Rated 3 out of 5áby stormyweather It's more like a purse than a pack...
I bought this based on missk5's review. I thought I'd like a smallish pack that would hold a liter bottle, extra pair of shoes and lunch. I like the bag but I'm still trying to figure out how missk5 arranges all of that stuff in her pack. The straps are very comfortable and the bag is attractive yet sturdy. I'm still on the fence about this one. It might have to go back.

Rated 3 out of 5 T'ws the best of packs, it was the worst of packs.
Pro: I was amazed and excited to discover how much this pack will hold: 10" tablet, full keyboard. smallish DSLR & zoom lens (in case), a kindle, wallet, pens, pencils, etc. I thought, "This is terrific!" But then . . .
Con: I put it on my back. I could NOT make the pack comfortable, no matter what I did with the straps - I lengthened them all the way so the pack would ride low, but it was not low enough - I got a backache. I tightened them so that the pack would ride high, but then the straps started cutting off the circulation in my arms, sort of.
Others have mentioned the straps here. I am a 5'6" woman with about a 44" chest, and I find the pack unwearable. My husband, an inch taller than me but with a 38" chest, finds the pack very comfortable. However, since it's for me, I'm sending it back. I will be watching to see if LL improves the straps (myself, I think looong straight padded straps rather than those curvy things might help), and if they do, I'll buy this again because it really did carry an impressive lot of stuff.

Rated 3 out of 5áby IAMom3 ALMOST perfect!
I LOVE the smaller size of this bag! It bugs me that others are complaining about the size, when it states very clearly in the description the dimensions of this bag. I was looking for a bag with about a 15L capacity, and this is perfect. The features and design are awesome. I seriously loved everything about this bag---EXCEPT the shoulder straps. As another reviewer mentioned, the curvature is off or something. When I'm wearing it, the straps are so far out on my shoulders that it feels like they are going to slip off my shoulders (and no, I don't have super narrow shoulders). I was so sad that I will have to return this bag. :( Also, because of the small size, I imagine more women will buy this pack than men. More feminine colors would be great.

Rated 5 out of 5áby gracefulpilgrim perfect day tote for working women
I've used this pack now for about 3 years and it is still going strong but in need of a washing. I walk to work and it holds all I need for the day: organizer, phone and charger, lunch, 'purse stuff' like wallet and makeup kit, ipod and headphones, book or Kindle. I didn't want a big bag and this is perfect. I also take it to sporting events and it is big enough for snacks and a light jacket. I carry a water bottle in the side pocket and it fits fine. So much easier on the back than carrying a shoulder tote. Zippers all still work great. This backpack has definitely given me my money's worth.

Rated 5 out of 5áby HuckleberryHobo Great Backpack
I'm a collector of Bean's luggage, particularly the Carryall line, and was so glad they finally brought back the plum color from years back. I was initially dismayed that they stopped making the bigger backpack, since it was never available in the plum, and I felt like I was settling when I got this smaller one. However, it is a great bag and it's grown on me so much that the bigger one (which I have in other colors) actually feels almost too big now. My only complaint...please make the mesh water bottle pockets deeper so they will actually hold water bottles - they are too tiny except for small water bottles. Everything else is great - comfortable straps and just the right size to hold everything I need from road trips to day hiking to plane travel. Thank you, Bean! #P.S. I'd love to see the Carryall Collection include a real 3000 cubic inch or so travel backpack, with zip-off daypack included, like the ones you used to carry!)

Rated 5 out of 5áby MathProfBeanFan Perfect Size!
I have been waiting to find a backpack this size for several years. (I had previously considered a child's backpack, but determined this would not work for various reasons.) For me, the Carryall Day Pack is perfect in its size and sleekness. It is comfortable on my back, and looks great with casual or dressy clothing. I am extremely happy with this purchase!

I am very satisfied with my black Carryall Daypack. This pack daily holds; size 8 running shoes, gym clothes, 1 litre water bottle, work lunch and snacks, plus personal items; wallet, glasses, organizer, etc. I am amazed that I've yet to fill this compact pack to the brim. The back is nicely cushioned, but not overkill (not stiff). It will move and bend with you and rides nice and high on the back. It appears well made and I am looking forward to seeing how it lasts over the years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Surfy Nice day or overnight pack.
The Carryall Day Pack is a well made Pack. The top hand grip is solid and good quality. I use it for frequent overnight trips to visit relatives.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Luzia Caryall Day pack
used this on a week long birding trip in maine. Looks smart, tough material, lots of space and nicely designed compartments. My only concern is the mesh pockets on the side are a bit small. One of my 24 oz capacity vacuum container did fall out once or twice. A narrower smaller one fit well and stayed in place.

If you need a high-quality, SMALL, shoulder-supported backpack, this is ideal. The usual excellent design and materials are there but note the dimensions carefully.
