LL Bean's quality has really gone downhill in the past few years. In the case of these boots, the "red" color is a hot pink, and the dark blue is a bright purple. Will probably return since the point was for our 4-year-old to wear it with her red LL Bean rain coat.
ETA: I just read the other reviews, and there seem to be issues with fit and with cracking. I wish LL Bean would return to the high standards that we've come to appreciate, even if they have to raise prices.

We buy my daughter a new pair of these each time she outgrows them. She wears them daily (most times the only thing she'll wear on her feet) We've never had a problem with any of them.
We've gotten into the habit of buying them for friends kids as well. Best investment you can get for a kid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dotyc Pretty boots but they crack easily
We purchased these lovely looking boots for our daughter who is a mature, calm six year old (ie. she does not abuse her clothes/shoes). Within two months of use, the outer material cracked on both boots rendering them leaky. We returned them and got a replacement pair, which also cracked within the same amount of time, in roughly the same places (around the ankle joint) just with regular use. I would never buy another pair of boots like this, or any boots made from similar material. You might as well throw your money away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pickyjapanesemama Love them! Must for school, camping, and rainy day
I bought a pair for my daughter this summer, and she wore at camping. Even it's not rain, the ground is moist in the morning. She enjoyed protected, dry feet all day long without getting too warm! Great! I wish there are adult version of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by vizslalover Durable rain boots!
I just ordered another pair of these for my daughter, to replace the ones that she's almost outgrown. So happy to finally find a rain boot that doesn't crack before it's outgrown!!! There is a bit of wear to the fabric inner layer/liner in the heel area, but totally normal/expected wear. And yes, the decorative buckles do work their way undone, as other reviewers have noted. That's the only downside that we've seen with these boots, and not worth downgrading them to 4 stars for. The only disappointment this time around for my daughter was that they weren't available in any pink colour schemes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OutdoorsMomFromPA Passed the Alaska test!
We just got a new pair of these boots for my son, before our weeklong adventure trip to SE Alaska. The temperate rainforest and activities really put these boots to the test. They were comfortable walking around town for a day, keeping his feet dry in the rain. They were comfortable to wear bush-wacking and creek-stomping, and when our skiff had wet landings. The thing that made me smile the most about my choice of LL Bean's boots over others, was watching how my son's boots performed compared to another boy's boots, who had pull-up handles punched into the sides of the boots, just below the top..... This in effect made the other boy's boots about 2 inches shorter, so that his boots got swamped through the handle-holes when creek-stomping, while my son's feet stayed nice and dry! (My son really liked the blue camo print, too!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by SweetPepper Finally a Rain Boot to hold up to my son. . .
We LOVE these boots. I purchased my seven year old our 1st pair last fall for the beginning of the school year (as I always do). He hikes to my parents each morning to catch the school bus. In the past by Thanksgiving (and often earlier) he would be advising me of leaks -- others where NOT LLBean brand (shame on me). He has finally met his match! He wears these ALL the time and has yet to blow a hole in them. They are on the pricey side. But they do hold up to the challenge, so worth the investment. THANKS FOR AN AWESOME PRODUCT!

Rated 4 out of 5 by EgansMom Kid Boots on a Grown Up
I wear a women's size 7 or 7.5 and ordered the kid's 6. They are plenty big. Very loose in the ankles. (I did order the kids wellie warmers in xl and it seems to help with the loosesness.) I am short so I choose the kid boots becasue I was hoping the kid's boots would be a little shorter in height than the adult boots, and they are, but only slightly.
My only complaint is that one of the buckles refuses to stay buckled and look nice. I may try to super glue it in position.
Overall, I like the pattern and think they're really cute with skinny jeans or a skirt/dress, and since our winter here in Michigan has been more rainy than snowy, they've been very useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MoreBeanTheBetter Beware of the sizing!!
Much like the Bean boot, these are weird with the sizing. We bought ours at the store so we got the correct info but if you are buying online just be advised. We bought them 2 sizes up from my gals size. Added the warmers and they are good to go. Beautiful colors and now they can't wait for rain! :)
