This is the first tankini I've purchased, and I think I'm going to like it a lot. haven't had a chance to try it in the water yet, but the fit is comfortable. perhaps a little light on coverage but not thin. no pulling or stretching to get it on. would be nice to have more of a color choice.

The BeanSport tank-style tankini top is just what I was looking for, great for water sports, and times when a more modest tankini is needed. I was very pleased with the new cobalt Medallion Print, as well as finding that my usual size 10 has not changed in fit, as some other tankini tops have. While I typically prefer cami-straps, this top is good for the other times, and even nice enough to wear as a vacation tank top! I have not had the opportunity to try it out in the water yet, but it seems about the same as the previous style. Thanks LLBean for keeping something the same, and more choice of prints would be appreciated!

Rated 5 out of 5 by oklip955 modest top
I ordered the 12 and it was too big, I reordered the 10 and it fits great. I wore it swimming at the fitness center yesterday and it worked great for me. I wanted something that would not show cleavage and yet was stylish, I paired it with some swim bottoms that I already had to make a nice modest swim suit. Thanks for making something for the rest of us.

Loved the cut of this tank top. It wasn't too clingy around the mid section, hiding my muffin top. However, like another customer, I was so disappointed in the quality of the sewing. The front and back were obviously cut from fabric running in opposite directions. There was no way the stripes could match at the sides. This was not a case of just being a little off in matching the stripes. The suit was cut from the fabric in such a way that it could not possibly match. It looked cheap, and I returned it. Too bad, as I liked the pretty blue and green colors...

Rated 5 out of 5 by WhereHaveYouBean Works great for paddle sports
Love this top. Fits much better than competitors because the shoulder straps are wider/softer,have no hardware to dig in, and are spaced correctly for a size 6. Also, the bra is made from mesh with lightweight, padded inserts appropriate to my size--not large padded cups that are spread too far apart and take forever to dry. Being way past both the Speedo and bikini age, I appreciate a modest bathing suit in my size--almost impossible to buy anywhere.

It looked fine while dry, but as soon as it got wet it turned into a huge ballooning sack. I wish I had seen similar reviews before I bought it in the store. The material is really weird when wet. It is by far the worst fitting bathing suit I have ever seen. I was surprised because most of my LLBean clothing is terrific.

I love the print. I got the size that would fit my chest and it was a nice fit across. Since I needed a size (12) to fit my 36" C chest, the body of the top was blousy and looked more like an empire waist/maternity sytle swim suit and added 10 pounds to my figure. On top of this, I am short waisted and the length of the top ran long and covered my bottoms that i bought to match the top. I am 5'4". My 11 year old daughter suggested I wear different bottoms b/c it looked like I was wearing nothing. A side note, if you buy the matching swim bottoms, the manufacturer for LL BEAN did not put in the non -roll elastic and it is constantly folding over and not laying flat in the waist band.

Rated 1 out of 5 by sallyNC So Disappointing!
This tankini was so appealing online with its bright youthful stripe and attractive design to cover my not so youthful figure. As soon as it arrived, I hurried to try it on. Then I eagerly checked the mirror and I liked what I saw, UNTIL I lifted my arm and saw the side seam with its grossly mismatched stripes! Instead of the two dark stripes that appear on the front and back of the garment, in the side seam there are four dark stripes, each at a different position in the seam. These are not small mismatched stripes; these are very wide, mismatched stripes that simply steal the class from the suit.
I turned back facing the mirror and thought perhaps I could just keep my arms down when I?m not in the water?I mean, in the water nobody will notice... In that moment, I went from feeling very sharp looking to feeling a little self-conscious. Too bad!

Rated 3 out of 5 by marypr2 Didn't Fit Like the Old One
I bought this top to replace a beloved one that had faded. Anyway, I bought the new beansport suit pieces to replace what I had, and both the tops and bottoms are way skimpier. I have lost weight since I bought my first set, particularly in the top, yet the one size down is uncomfortably tight in the wrong places. Other people might wear their suits tight like this, but I'm too modest. The skirt I had to keep at the same size as before despite my weight loss, and that is skimpier than the former as well. I think these suits are relying on less suit and more lycra. I you don't want to highlight your tummy, get a size up.

I love this top. This is the second one I have bought from Bean. But after 2 years, the elastic in the shelf bra disintegrates. I had to toss my previous, beautiful lime green top, and now a black one; I have ordered a new black one but knowing it won't last more than 2 years. I am careful to wash them out after each swim, never put them in a drier, etc., and yet the elastic gives out. I have swim wear from other companies which lasts for many years, yet I keep ordering this top from Bean because it is the best fitting and the best looking. It's a little longer than others so stays down, the cut and shape is great, and it's very comfortable. I will keep getting these tops in spite of the elastic problem.
