This is a screen house that works well, it is also a nice shade area. With the rain fly it is a tent that works well. I just came back from a trip where there was rain, hail, wind, snow and ate dinner, had tea and slept well cause I was in this screen house. .

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kavika Super as a big tent, too!
Stayed dry during very hard rains. Amazing that it stood up to high winds given the flat walls (always stake out corners if winds expected to be an issue). I hate tent floors, but this one attaches to the four corners, so you can have either front or back half floored and the other half to enter wearing dripping rain jacket and dry off. Stand up changing room. Big enough for 2 adults and a child to sleep on one side yet use the other half for small chairs and table. The biggest asset is the awning! There are TWO!!! huge doors that can be used as enormous awnings when its hot (set up flat or peaked). At night, they close easily, but you can stake out the two Side awning stakes about 10" away from the shelter, allowing plentiful airflow. Yes, I wouldn't use it as a tent on Mt. Washington, but for April through September in areas with trees, boulders, this makes for a great tent!! The only improvement I would make is for the optional awning to be able to be set independently from the screenhouse (eg. when just covering a picnic table in low mosquito areas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by katydid74 Great tent, used with rain fly
Used for RVing travel. Set up up less than 15 mins with rain fly. Withstood two serious downpours and we kept very dry. The only issue was a slight defect in netting and LLBean replaced in Two days. Would recommend for camping, concerts, backyard BBQs.

by WeLoveCamping Buying another -- because we love it so much
I am an oddball...and asked for this screen house (and the additional rainfly/floor) as a birthday gift 6 years ago, to use while both rustic camping in the Upper & Lower Peninsulas of Michigan and while at a traditional music festival we attend every summer. We tent camp exclusively, have four children and a dog, and have used this screen house hard for the past six summers. We are finally going to replace it this year -- with another LLBean Woodlands Screen House.
Set up for this shelter is not instant, but it's not excruciating, either. My husband and I (or one of the kids) can put it up in about 5 minutes. It is large enough to house a picnic table (if we're staying at an established campground), our camp kitchen setup (a 5' table laden with stove and chuckbox) and our cooler(s) under the table. It's also great to use as a "crate" for our dog, who feels secure and is able to stay cool and away from the bugs. (Beware the chipmunk who enters under the side, however!)
The shelter we're replacing has made it through severe UP downpours, high wind (we do use guy lines) and more than a couple curious raccoons (including one who decided to climb the inside of the screen -- and didn't tear it!). Above all, it has served us well in protecting us from bugs and weather (especially with the rainfly), and has allowed us more usable "living space" while camping as a family. It is only now, after many seasons, that the zippers are failing and we need to look at a replacement.
Thank you, LLBean, for continuing to make this great shelter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Superstew1 Great quality materials
We bought the Woodlands screen house and the extra floor and flycover to use while RV'ing around the country. We watched the video on how to erect the house and it took the two of us about 15 minutes to put it up. What a super screen room. Everything is quite sturdy and the materials are excellent quality. We know we'll have this screen house for many years.

An embarrassing story from camping in the northernmost area of Michigan's U.P.establishes the value of this shelter. I left a peach out on a picnic table (oops) that the House was straddling. I then went for an evening stroll. I returned well after dark. The largest raccoon that I have ever seen (in 50 years of camping) got in under the side and could not get out (was not using the optional floor at the time). When it walked away, its back was nearly knee high to me. Big fella.
It had climbed up the screen and was perched there, bouncing the entire house like it was dribbling a basketball. After persuading this massive stubborn brute to leave via the large screen door, I found twenty places in the screening where it looked like paw prints - claws had made little holes in the screen in the shape of the paws. The screen did not tear in ANY location and the House was completely intact. The punctures in the screen were no bigger than the diameter of the claws and still quite serviceable. I assume that the House was trashed, but it isn't
It provides a lot of nice square footage and is well protected, particularly with the optional fly. I can set up the screen part in a few minutes and with a practiced partner less than 5.

This tent went far beyond my expectations - tough - easy to set up - great to look at - fine craftsmanship - pockets in corner for keys etc -simpe instructions sewn into storage bag.
It is currently on my deck over my hot tub! No bugs no tree debre no rain - great view - great breeze - hang a candle on the center hook and have a litle of your own heaven.
I bought one for my best friends but it was just a tad to large for their deck...
Amazing ! You will not be sorry if you treat yourself to this screen house - it even has tent with floor option...

Rated 5 out of 5 by verypickycamper screen house can also be used as a tent!
I have never camped in a tent before but my daughter's sleep away camp invites the mom's for a weekend during the camp session so I decided to use the screen house since we already owned it. I did have to purchase the fly and floor kit to use it as a tent but it worked out great! The house is very spacious and tall inside. I set it up and took it down myself without any trouble. Of course, there was a terrible storm one night -- many tents got flooded -- but ours was fine. Some rain did get in because the floor does not zip to the tent -- it only hooks at each corner, but rain only got in one two sides and it was not much at all -- one towel to sop it up. My daughter was sleeping on the floor in the middle of the house and her bedding was dry. The roof was very stable and stayed completely dry. Everything zipped up really well -- we had no bugs at all. This is a great house and I am very happy I finally got the rain fly -- now it can do anything!

by scgator2001 This is excellent
I thought it might be too expensive but after I set it up, I know it far exceeded what I thought I was getting.
Set up took just a few minutes. We bought the floor kit, oh my gosh, it makes it so nice.
This was bought for an RV set up. we walked around and looked at what others had, looked at the reviews, searched the internet and then decided on this screen room.
The dog in the picture is safe and cannot get out of the enclosure which makes the screen house even more valuable as we don't have to worry about him slipping away if we get distracted.
