The sheets are beautiful but I had to starch and iron them after they were laundered. I also tried hanging them out on the clothes line instead of putting them in the dryer - but they were still very wrinkled.

This set is reminiscent of the old-fashioned tooling done by our grandmothers. We haven't washed them to determine how well they will hold up in the washer/dryer, but they appear very well crafted. I think our grandmothers would approve! Very nice quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 Beautiful crocheted sheet set
I didn't want to pay quite this much BUT they were perfect for the quilt I bought at LLB and just beautiful. They were not stiff with sizing which is a red flag for me. However, I have not washed them yet so I will see but I expect them to be soft. I like the deep fitted sheet as well. The sheet set is sized perfectly for my full sized bed. I expect good quality from LL Bean and whenever there's been a problem they have always accepted the return without question.

These are so lovely - it would have been a 5 star if they had been a higher thread count. I bought both the sheets and the dust ruffle, and my bedroom looks so pretty.
But why not make such lovely sheets in a 300 or 400 count?

I am super picky about my sheets and spent hours looking for the best possible deal before I bought these. But they are SO great. They breathe well, and they're gorgeous, and they're perfectly crisp. And they feel clean and fresh even when it's time for a wash.
Glowing praise aside, they're not for everyone. They're scratchier than I think most people like (I love the crispness), so I probably wouldn't put them on a guest bed. And they do wrinkle a little, even straight out of the dryer (but the 100% cotton was important because we needed sheets that breathe well). But those are tradeoffs I am more than willing to make -- If partial stars were allowed, I would still give them 4.75.
One thing that really helped me in sheet shopping was learning the difference in weaves and material and how they would feel. Based on my imperfect understanding, percale weaves are going to be crisper (so a little scratchier) than sateens. And L.L. Bean does a much better job than a lot of sites explaining what's in their sheets and what the weave is.
I cannot say enough good things about these sheets. I may never buy sheets anywhere else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Schoobie Search is finally over!
I bought some sheets similar to these years ago and they finally gave up. I have been searching for a replacement for months when I came across these sheets. I love the crisp feel and have slept much better since their arrival. I absolutely hate the sheets they have in stores these days. They don't feel good and don't last. I look forward to many years of service and will probably buy another set soon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Chabmama Disappointed in quality, didn't wash well
This was a disappointing purchase. These sheets were pretty out of the package. Ivory color is beautiful & just the look I was hoping for. However, they did not stand up as I expected. The poor quality is very surprising for a Bean product - especially considering the price. These sheets did not wash well - terribly wrinkled coming out of the dryer & do not smooth out after being put on the bed as some sheets do. Both pillowcases ripped after just a few washings.

I really wanted to like these sheets, but they came out very wrinkled from the dryer. If you are willing to iron them you will probably like them. They are old-fashioned in looks and also in care.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MargeGhil WE LIKED THE FIRST SET SO MUCH WE BOUGHT A SECOND
We bought these sheets in white for the summer. They are really pretty and the lace border is sturdy. Not only are they really comfortable, but the sheets are generously proportioned and go on so easily that I can put on the fitted sheet without a lot of tugging and pulling. I thought that maybe they would shrink when washed and dried, but not so. They stay just the same size as new. So I bought a second set in the natural color for the winter.
