Rated 5 out of 5 by EsfHello Favorite winter boots!
I went with this pair to use as a snow/hunting boot. They are perfectly warm, even when I'm sitting still in the cold. A pair of wool socks works with mine. I used them in the snow as well since they are fully waterproof, I wouldn't use anything else. The traction is amazing when it's icy out. I've used mud boots and rain boots before for both hunting and snow. But what my bean boots offer is more versatility with the pants I wear. Also, I can move my ankles a million times better than in mud boots! I always had to walk stiff in tall mud boots, so I love my bean boots that actually move with my foot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lbeasley1995 MUST HAVE! Great boots!
I absolutely LOVE my L.L. Bean Boots! Ordered them for Virginia winters and I've worn them just about everyday! They keep my feet dry and warm and are very well made. Super cute and comfortable after just a few days of getting used to! They are my go-to shoes for cold, snowy days! BUT make sure to order a whole size down from your normal shoe size (I am normally an 8 1/2 or a 9 and the size 8 Bean Boots fit great with any thickness of sock). I have poor circulation in cold temperatures and these boots haven't failed me yet! Definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KLinBklyn Waterproof & warm, in the city, swamp, & snow.
I live in New York City but needed some boots for a deer hunting trip on a remote Midwestern island. I decide to embark on a seemingly impossible quest to find boots that were appropriate for both situations. I try to be fashionable, at least for my style-oriented career, so this was a real challenge.
Enter: Bean Boots with Gore Tex and Thinsulate.
These are perfect. Traditionally styled, waterproof like you wouldn't believe, and WAAAARM. There are days when my entire body is numb except for my feet. Wearing trouser socks. Today it was 3 (THREE) degrees outside and my feet had no idea.
Now, wintertime in NYC is no joke...neither fluffy shearling snow boots nor low-profile canvas hiking boots cut it when you're splashing through disgusting, probably-toxic ankle deep slush puddles on every corner on your mile-long walk to the subway. One wrong step, one leak in your shoe, and you hate yourself for exposing your precious feet to the icy, trash-filled slop invading the street.
But...the worst weather is actually a fairly small window of a month/6 weeks, plus you also spend the majority of your time on a normal sidewalk, or indoors, so a giant ski boot on a regular basis is a little much. Still, you need something that can act as a real snow boot.
THIS BOOT SOLVES ALL PROBLEMS. ALL. (World hunger is probably next)
When I see people (teenagers in sneakers; fashionistas in heels/Uggs) tip-toeing around frozen slush puddles, I laugh to myself and go right on through. (Suckers!) When I need to go play in the snow, these still work. When I think it might snow while I'm at work but want to wear lower profile shoes that actually work with my sweater and jeans, this is it.
Also, I wore these in the rain, hiking literally through a swamp, lost in the woods, dragging a bloody deer carcass behind me. I was the only hunter with dry feet. (And the only one who got a deer...coincidence?). Two days later, on the streets of Manhattan.
BEAN BOOTS FOREVER!! Apparently they're trendy now, but I don't even care either way.
- I wear a 9/9.5 and a 9 fits perfectly, even with super thick socks
- I originally got the shearling, which are supposedly warmer, but this kind has the gusset in the tounge, meaning they're much more waterproof (for swamps and puddles)

I am normally an 8 but i bought a 7 regular and they fit amazing! The lining keeps my feet very warm, so I don't even need thick socks. They are so comfortable but I still need to break in the leather. They are perfect for walking around in the slush and snow and my feet stay completely dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Missycrissy Worth the wait
I ordered these boots back in December and just received them today (feb19). I was really worried about the fit because so many people commented about it which really helped me buy the right size. My feet usually fit in a size 7 1/2, rarely a size 7 in some heels. So I ended up buying a size 7 medium. I tried them on and they are perfect, a little snug but once the leather relaxes they will be perfect. They adorable!! I can't wait to wear them in snow or rain!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveLLBean90 Women's with Gore-Tex/Thinsulate, size 7 AA Narrow
I love these boots!
Fit: I wear a size 7 in flat shoes and heels, and an 8 in boots and sneakers. I also have narrow feet. I ordered the size 7 AA Narrow (after much debate between the 6 or 7 Narrow). It fits perfectly with thicker "camp" socks, and hugs my feet comfortably. The tip of my toe is roughly 1/4-1/2 inch from the front of the boot. I can comfortably move my toes and yet the boot does not slide off of the heel of my foot when I walk.
Quality: Excellent. I was pleased to pay the higher price for these boots, because I've heard they last quite a while.
With the recent cold spell in the Northeast, I've been mainly wearing the boots to walk my dog. My feet stay warm & dry.
I can see why there are 60,000 pairs of backordered boots! L.L. Bean customer service was so cute, they even sent me a mini Bean boot on a keychain a month and a half into my wait time. #Not sure if that is typical, but it was a pleasant surprise# I'm very happy with my purchase and will definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sunshowers Warm and cozy, but wish this came in smaller sizes
I agonized between this boot and the children's Bean Boot. I know that the adult Bean Boots run very big - this is a problem for me, since I have size 5 feet and the smallest women's size is 6. So I'd already be ordering a size up out of necessity, when every recommendation is to order a size down. But I really wanted the Gore-tex/Thinsulate lining since I intend to use these as winter boots (the children's version is unlined). I also read many reviews that said the lining takes up some of the room inside the boot, so I decided to take my chances and place the order for a size 6 women's Bean Boot in the regular width.
I like that the lining is a nice crimson color, and the fabric is slightly fuzzy and quilted. As for the fit - unfortunately the boots fit bigger than I had hoped they would. I definitely would have preferred a size down or two, even with thick socks on. My sister, who wears size 6.5 or 7 shoes, tried my boots on and they were a comfortable fit for her. However, once the boots are laced up I have no issues with my feet sliding around, and they are actually very comfortable to walk in. I went on a 2 hour long walk and didn't have any blisters or hotspots, despite the thick, stiff leather upper. The lining truly makes a huge difference in comfort. But LL.Bean, PLEASE make women's Bean Boots in smaller sizes.
I've worn the boots out several times now, and while it hasn't been snowing on the west coast, it has been raining. I tested the boots in some deep puddles and am happy to say that my feet stayed perfectly dry. My feet are also prone to getting cold, and they stayed toasty warm. I'm taking a trip out to the east coast soon, and will really put the Thinsulate lining to the test then.

Excellent, of course. Get with gortex if you're dealing with a snowy city - totally warm (even in 19+ inches of Chicago snow). And, as recommended, order one size down (I always wear an 8; a 7 fits perfect - with room for think socks). I love these. Warning: I ordered them in October and they arrived in January - order early!

Rated 4 out of 5 by McCoot Love this boot, upper leather part is stiff though
Thank you to LL Bean for making boots for long skinny womens' feet! I am a size 11 Narrow and it is difficult to find shoes that fit well. I love this boot. The only issue so far is the top of the upper part of the boot cut into my leg a bit, but I believe this is because the leather is so new and stiff. I've seen people wearing these boots where the uppers are worn/broken in/soft. So I'm hoping the stiff leather hitting against my leg will diminish. Otherwise I am happy with the comfort of the boot.... fits like a.....glove! Very warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Youngwomen Waterproof yes, fit okay.
Really like this boot. Only issue is the size I wear a 7 1/2 in my other LL Bean shoes. I followed suite from the size recommendations and order a 8 to accommodate for thick socks. Wish I ordered the 7. Keeping the 8s because they are that comfortable.
