The metal piece that goes across the bar and holds the wheels does not curve properly to hold it in place. Since it does not hold tight, it lets the wheels turn to one side.

This wheel kit was built to break it seems. plastic wheels and the device that connects it to frame is held together with a plastic bracket and bolts that are hand tightened (so plastic bracket does not break or bend when tightened like normal brackets are I assume). In all I do not have long term expectations if used very often.

Very convenient item. Since I was surprise by the strength of the Hammock stadk, no wonder this items is so convenient. Now I can more around my hammock without any help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ME2012 nice idea but doesn't work
We were looking for something to help us move our hammock/stand around the yard. This is the right idea, but not well made. It's made of plastic, the wheels are hallow, and the whole thing caves under the weight of the hammock stand. This makes actually using it to move the hammock difficult or impossible. The wheels also started to break where they meet the axel.

The item works, but it is plastic and will not last more than a couple of years. Mine broke after 2 years. Bean sent me a new one no questions asked, but I would rather pay a little more and have something of better quality if it was avaiable

The part that connects the wheels is made of plastic. Not sure how that will hold up.
Makes moving it much easier,as the hammock is very heavy.
It was here in a matter of days.

The wheel kit makes the hammock so much easier to move around and only takes one person to move it. This is especially convenient when mowing or moving it to a more shady location.

The wheels actually work quite well once you get them on. If you follow the gentleman's advice in a previous review and take off the wheels to reach the nut and tighten - it works great. The only thing I was a little disappointed about is that the wheels are made of plastic and not rubber, which seems like it would be more durable. Other than that, we've pushed the stand around for several weeks now and have not had a problem.

I was hesitant to buy after other reviews, but it is L.L. Bean!!It works great for us, our hammock is on porch. My husband is very handy and he said the installation and make-up was crazy. It could have been made easier with a new design. Hint, take the wheels off to reach the nut and tighten.
