Rated 4 out of 5 by MainetoMongolia Boots are warm in Mongolia (where it is VERY cold)
Have had these boots for a few Maine winters now, and they have always kept me warm. The real test though was in our winter move this year from Maine to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - where the temperature barely goes above freezing on most days and falls to well below -20 degrees F on many days. Yes, the boots can be a bit of a challenge to get on and off unless the laces are loose, and Yes, the bottoms do not have much traction and are not ideal for ice or slippery snow without snow grips (which is why I gave boots 4 out of 5 stars - I wish they had more traction). However, they are extremely comfortable, roomy, warm, waterproof, and able to stand up to a Mongolian winter. Proud to wear made-in-Maine in the land of the Blue Sky!

Rated 5 out of 5 by jerkat love these boots
I had to wait a long time to save up for these but they were so worth the wait. I usually wear shoe size 9-9.5. I got these boots in a 9 and they fit perfect. I'm 5'7 and they come just below my calf...perfect height I think. They are amazingly comfy and warm and definitely top quality. I would recommend to anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LLBEANinDC Love these boots but could not get them on
These boots are beautiful, but I found the goretex lined booties cut at too sharp an angle. My foot could not flex at a sharp enough to get in them. If they had a zipper or some other way to slip in them, I would have kept them for a long time. Unfortunately, I had to send them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 Great boots!!!
I absolutely love these boots. They keep my feet dry and warm while still being fashionable. It is true that they're first hard to get on, but I followed the advice from a reviewer and removed the liners from the boots and put them on separately. All that was needed from there is a little tuck and the boots were on. After wearing the boots just a couple of times, the leather had soften and my feet slide now right into the boots. I wear them almost every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by haydensister Absolutely LOVE these boots!
I read many reviews of these boots before I bought them, and found the most common complaints not to be true - the liner never has come un-velcroed for me, and I simply loosen the laces and I have no trouble getting my feet out of them! They are warm, comfortable and supportive. I love the way they look, and they do their job well. I have worn them almost every day since they arrived, and I just can't get over how much I love them! They needed no breaking in, and fit true to size (I am an 8). When I did wear thin cotton socks with them, I noticed they were a teeny bit big, but since they are winter boots, I almost always wear them with heavy winter socks and they fit great. I am sure they will last me a long long time, but when I need a new pair, I will certainly buy these again!

I am a third generation LL Bean customer. My first generation was born in 1899! I have given your product to the fourth generation and will soon give them to the fifth!
I have worn these shoes every day since they arrived. As with the products my grand daddy purchased, they perform as advertized. They fit, are water-proof, warm and look great!
I have grand children of my own now who are in their teens. Some of them are ready to take care of your products for themselves. Thanks for everything. Pass it on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ConnecticutWoods Order Your Liners Seperately
I read a lot of reviews before ordering these boots, and decided I needed to check the sizing. I went to my local store, and while they don't carry the hunter's boots, I was able to try the insulated regular boots. I wear a 9-1/2 normally, and was able to try on a 10 - the liners were snug, but my feet swam in the boots. They didn't have a 9 in stock, but it seemed safe to order the 9 and I did.
The 9s fit well, but like many other people here, I had enormous difficulty getting the liners on and off my foot. It definitely helped to pull them out and treat them as a sock, but after I had spent a day on my feet in them and my feet had swollen a little, they almost would not come off at all.
I ended up ordering a separate pair of liners in size 10, which fit my feet much better, and still fit inside the boots. It means however, that I wasted quite a bit of money on the original liners. I suggest ordering the unlined boots and then ordering the liners separately and one size larger.
All that aside - fabulous boots. Once I replace the laces with a longer pair, they'll be perfect.

this is the 2nd pair I bought (the first one for myself, this pair for my daughter in Toronto, CA). These boots are well worth the $$$. They are warm with only a thin pair of socks. Highly recommended.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SLJ395 These boots would be great- if you can get them on
I should have listened to the reviews regarding the effort it takes to put these on. I thought I wouldn't mind a bit of tugging, but this is certainly a process that would frustrate anyone trying to get out the door in the morning! I ordered a size down (I wear a size 7, ordered a 6) as the sizing information recommends. The Thinsulate/Goretex lining fits snugly on the foot, and the boot itself is still roomy. It is not the fit that is the problem - it's (1) the ineffective pieces of velcro meant to hold the lining in place, and (2) the unforgiving construction that does not allow the arch of the foot to pass through at the ankle. Although once on they are comfortable and warm, if they are for daily wear I recommend holding off on this boot until LL Bean revises the design!
I have returned these boots in favour of the un-lined hunting boot.
