Course Description

There's nothing quite like a delicious campfire meal after a full day in the great outdoors. During this four-hour hands-on course, participants will learn (and enjoy) easy and delicious campfire cuisine that goes well beyond the simple skewered hot dog. Our Registered Maine Guides will teach participants how to cook a variety of tried-and-true recipes over an open fire using a Dutch oven and 20" skillet. Recipes will include main meals, sides and desserts, perfected from years of feeding hungry campers. This outdoor cooking course will also cover fire-building techniques, safe food handling tips and Leave No Trace principles. Come hungry and go home with plenty of recipes, campfire cooking tips and a very satisfied belly.

This is an ideal course for scout leaders, foodies or anyone who wants to learn new recipes for backcountry cooking.

All necessary equipment is provided. If you have food restrictions, please contact us prior to your class at 1-888-270-2326.

L.L.Bean does not usually cancel events due to inclement weather. However, we reserve the right to cancel an event at any time due to severe weather, low enrollment or other concerns. If L.L.Bean cancels your event, you will receive a full refund for the cost of your reservation.

*Synthetic clothing dries quickly and is the best choice for outdoor pursuits. Please do not wear cotton clothing. When wet, cotton rapidly robs the heat from your body and takes a long time to dry. We also recommend you dress in multiple layers, allowing you more flexibility to comfortably respond to the weather conditions and your level of exertion.
