Rated 5 out of 5 by CADJR Almost Perfect!
I just got this parka the other day, while we were having over 2 inches of rain, and it definitely kept me dry. It is the same size as the LLB Upland Gore-Tex Hunting Jacket that I already own. I know because I measured both of them, and laid one on top of the other to compare.
This parka is heavy-duty, more like the older Army issued Gen II ECWS Gore-Tex parka. The hood is adjustable and can stow inside the collar. There are lots of pockets, and most have shell loops. There is even a zippered game pouch in the back. All zipper pockets have waterproof zippers. The upper and lower hand warmer pockets are lined.
I was able to zip my LLB Prima-loft Packaway Vest inside as a liner for when colder weather comes. It still fit nicely, even while wearing an LLB insulated Upland Hunting Shirt underneath. And it fit well while wearing my recently purchased LLB Waterfowler Sweater.
Overall, this jacket is almost perfect and was a steal at the SALE price. I just wish the bi-swing arms and shoulders of the Upland Hunting Jacket were also used on this jacket. I can move my arms and have good range of motion, but the other jacket does seem to allow a bit more freedom while swinging your arms as in mounting a gun. However, all of the other nice features of this jacket ( hood, multiple pockets, shell loops, game pouch, etc.) easily outweigh the minor flaw in the way it feels a bit tight at the extreme end of range of motion. I will learn to love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Seniorduckhunter Technical waterfowl shell
I originally ordered a size medium but when I added an additional clothing layer of fleece inside the shell the coat would bind the arms at the bicep level when mounting my shotgun. I returned the medium in exchange for a large that is a little big without a layer of fleece under the coat, but when adding the layer of fleece that you need when hunting cooler temperatures, the larger size provided sufficient room in the shoulders and arms when mounting my shotgun. The shell is well made with all the pockets in the right place for the waterfowl hunter, the shotshell pockets on the exterior of the right and left arms is a nice touch. I believe the binding problem could be corrected by adding a bi swing pleat on the right and left back of the coat that would allow the material to move with your body when mounting your gun. This would allow for a true size fit without having to allow for additional space when adding a fleece layer. Make that change and you would have a winner.

I REALLY hoped to like this shell...
First of all, the pockets of this jacket are VERY well designed. My problem with this shell is that the jacket is too heavy. It should be able to fit over adequate clothing for hunting. If I were wearing it in warmer conditions with only a base layer underneath it would be great. As it is, It is too bulky and heavy to layer substantial layers underneath.
The pockets on this jacket are perfect...The duck call pockets would be perfect for a small flashlight on the way to a deer stand or duck blind. The snap closures on the large pockets are quiet and far better than velcro. The hand warmer pockets are perfectly located and the shoulder rubber coverings are smart.
This shell should be made from GoreTex ProShell like the Ascent parka ...then it would be perfect!

Rated 3 out of 5 Functional, but will it fit you?
Clearly there was a lot of thought put in to the jacket and I love the features, but the fit across the shoulders was a little too narrow for me. I would recommend it but you have to try it on and decide if it fits you.

The sleeves are to tight. Normally I would order a large, but wanted extra room so ordered an extra large. I will be returning this item.

Just what I was looking for, versatile enough without a liner for early season and you can layer underneath later in the year.
Pros: Drawcords and waist and thigh level, extended cuffs are fantastic, great collar/ hood for keeping out the elements, two sets of pocket warmers. And, it is built sturdy!
Cons: The shell holders on the side sleeves are too small to get my hands in, can't use the elastic loops. The hood is a weird shape, makes you look like an elf and doesn't form fit because of it.

Outstanding hunting coat. Warm enough for the early season, use a sweater in the late season and you'll be fine. Best hood I've had.

I purchased this last fall in a pinch. I had given my last waterfowl jacket to my son and then the weather turned rainy and cold.
This jacket is cut just right to wear another layer under for more insulation or on warmer days can be worn alone.
Great camouflage pattern for Maine and North Dakota hunts.
Iv'e been wearing it on wet winter days as well.
