Rated 4 out of 5 by TakomaDad Great quality, runs large
Very nice, classic blazer. Excellent quality of material and construction. The interior pockets are a little overly elaborate for my needs, but that doesn't really hurt. The fabric is slightly on the coarse side, but appropriate for this piece, and likely contributes to reducing wrinkles. It arrived a little wrinkled, but I was able to quickly steam out the wrinkles.
It definitely runs large. Having read the other reviews, I deliberately ordered a smaller size. I always wear a 42L, but ordered a 40R in this case, and the fit was just right. If you wear a long, I suggest ordering a regular. If you wear a regular you'll likely need to have the sleeves shortened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kp825 Great quality, great look, great price
Wanted an inexpensive jacket for long foreign business trips, where airports, suitcases, hotels and meeting rooms take their toll on clothes. As usual for LL bean products, the quality, feel and look of this jacket is exceptional. At the sale price, this jacket is a steal! Please note, before buying I read the reviews- I usually take a 42 Long, ordered a 42 Regular- perfect fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by absolutelyretired Nice jacket for gorillas
I did not heed the warnings. I'm 6' tall, a bit overweight and have a 34" shirt sleeve length. Ordered the 48 Regular and it fits fine except the sleeves. They came down past my knuckles! I'm glad it was on sale because I had to pay a local seamstress to shorten the sleeves. So for about $110 including alteration this is a nice jacket to take on a trip abroad. The "wrinkle-resistant wool" should travel well and there are plenty of inside pockets. If I had paid the original $174 I would have returned it, but for $90 + alterations it's not bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bloomsbury Good travel jacket
I bought this jacket for a trip I will take to Italy next summer and like it a lot. I sometimes wear a 46 but bought the 44 for this jacket and it fits perfectly. The sleeves are about right, maybe 1/4" too long but close enough. The jacket has two zippered interior pockets that I like. My one minor concern is that pocket to hold glasses is a little short and can't be velcroed closed when holding glasses. The clothe is high quality and appears not to wrinkle (although I haven't sat on a plane while wearing it yet). The color is an attractive dark navy.
I bought the jacket on sale and think it's a great value.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Haoleboy Sleeves too long
I have to agree with the criticism on this jacket. I have taken a 41-42Long for 20+ years. I got the 42L and it was huge. I now have a 40L and the sleeves are about 1" too long. It isn't critical enough to send back, and the pockets do help. But it does stop me from wearing the jacket except when traveling or in casual situations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mocat Baggy fit
Ditto the comments about too-long sleeves and baggy fit. There was no way alteration would make this jacket right, short of rebuilding it scratch. Get one that fits at the start. BTW I wear 40 long, but these sleeves were down to my knuckles. Otherwise, fabric & features fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HappyTourister A 5 Star Item Rated 4 Stars? Here's WHY..........
I'm sure you've read the previous ratings complaining of the size/fit issues, or you will. Yes, I too am one of the veteran L.L.Bean customers that was unhappy with, and returned, this well-made garment due to poor fit of my usual size and the excess length of the sleeves. However, I did reorder the next smallest size and that one was in need of alterations including shortening of the sleeves. Since I really liked the blazer - fabric, construction, styling and features - I paid a visit to my tailor for his advice. Was it possible to make the necessary alterations and would it be worth the added cost to do so? Well, the answer to the first part was yes and the cost of $50.00 to shorten the sleeves and taper the blazer was my call. I agreed to the alterations and am glad I did! My initial disappointment is now a fine fitting, good looking addition to my wardrobe and all for about $120.00 TOTAL! (Yeah, I happened to luck out on a 1 day special, but this blazer may still be available for $89.99).
Anyway, if you're a veteran customer of LLB it's probably due to the great products and service they offer us. In reviewing my blazer purchase, this was the first time I ordered this type of clothing online from any seller and rarely, if ever, have I walked into any retail clothing store and tried on a suit, sport coat or blazer that fit perfectly without the need for alterations. So then, in all fairness, why would or should I expect LLB to provide a "perfect" fit? When I discussed the elongated sleeve issue with my tailor he said that it was a standard manufacturing practice as a longer sleeve can be shortened, but if the sleeve is cut too short, then what? And he was impressed with the overall quality of the item and said that I got a very good deal.
So, my reason for the 4 star rating is that with such a fine customer service department I would have appreciated a bit more advisement considering all the reviews concerning size/cut issues.

Just received this. A great value and beautiful coat. Fits very well - arms just a smidge long. Looking forward to years of use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Himalaya Sleeves too long
As other reviewers have noted, the sleeves on this otherwise nice blazer are way too long -- at least two inches longer than I have ever seen on a blazer classified as "regular." If you buy it, be ready to make alterations. (I was surprised by how much three different tailors said they'd charge for this).

Rated 1 out of 5 by LongIslandNYLovesLLBean Classic Wool Travel Blazer
Avoid at all costs! Sleeves are too long on Regular sizes by about 2 1/2 inches. Attempting to overcome that by purchasing the jacket in a 'Short' makes the jacket about 2 1/4 inches too short on overall length. The material quality and Dark Khak color are great, but L.L. Bean really needs to demand quality from their vendors upfront. This craftsmanship is just totally unacceptable. As soon as I tried on the jacket, it was painfully obvious that it was not going to work, so I promptly packaged it for return.
