I have had many shirts that I've liked a lot, but this is one of the few I've loved! It's warm but not excessively bulky, very lightweight, washes and dries nicely with no ironing, and is sized perfectly for me in the L-TALL size. I have bought one of each solid color. These shirts make me look forward to winter...almost.

I own several fleece shirts, purchased one at a time beginning when they were first offered. The earlier incarnations were fine; comfortable next to the skin, not too warm to wear indoors (I keep my house at 66 during the day) but plenty warm outside in calm freezing weather, and also warm in breezy freeze with the addition of a nylon shell. Those earlier shirts had one small flaw; the buttonholes on the sleeve plackets were too big, and kept coming unbuttoned on their own. Easily fixed with needle and thread.
The latest 2 shirts have remedied this small flaw, and they are even softer and more comfortable and warm that the earlier ones. They are my new replacement for chamois cloth shirts.

This is a comfortable, well-made shirt, but heed the reviews which indicate how big it is. I'm a trim 5'7", 150 lb male who ordinarily wears a medium sport shirt or a 151/2-32 dress shirt. Based on the reviews I opted for a small. It was the right choice. Shoulders, chest, sleeves are perfect. Buttoning the collar is a bit tight, but I won't be wearing it buttoned anyway. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

It really long for the size, but not bulky. unlike any of my other bean shirts. soft shirt. but the button and strip that holds them are hard. just an odd shirt.

Yes, this is a nice shirt. And, yes, it's cut generously.
I generally wear size L shirts from LLBean. This shirt, in size L, fit comfortably OVER another LLBean fleece pullover and a thin, insulated vest. That's generous, but not a problem if you expect it.
The shirt is even more generously cut in its length. The tail and front hang halfway down my thighs. I suppose you could tuck the shirt into pants, but it'd have to be bunched up inside the seat, or awkwardly tucked into the legs. Hanging outside, it's impressively long.
The fleece is comfortably soft, the neck and arms are the right size for me (size large, usually about 15.5-16 neck, 34-35 arms).
The fabric is somewhere between thin and medium, which works well (and warm!) over another shirt and vest. I can't (yet) comment on its performance in the laundry.
So, if you're prepared for the generous cut, it's a nice shirt.

I bought two of these shirts as Christmas gifts. Both my husband & son love the shirts so much that it is hard to get the shirts off of them and into the washer. The shirts are warm, soft, very comfortable, and look nice. Sizes run big, the XL was perfect for my husband who normally takes a Tall XL. My son usually wears a Tall XXL (he likes clothes loose). I bought XXL which was almost too big, but he layers it over a hoodie so it works. This shirt is great and I am buying another one for my husband to use as a camp shirt.

This shirt is great to be worn as a jacket on a cool day. The button plackets are reinforced which adds a lot of durability to the shirt. It is a very comfortable and soft shirt

I bought a solid color fleece shirt from Bean's a year ago, cheaper and just slightly heavier fabric. They are very generously cut and make a great jackshirt. I just bought a plaid one in small rather than my usual medium so I can wear it as a shirt rather than over shirt. Soft, warm, classic buffalo plaid, button holes, cuffs, and collar nylon backed for wear resistance. What's not to like?

I love it, love it, love it! I purchased this shirt in October '12 and wear it very often. It's a great casual work shirt (untucked over a tee), or for weekends and lounging around. I have the green and find it to be true to the online color. Out of the box it is very soft, warm and "broken in" feeling. I'm a pretty big guy; 6"2 225lbs, and find the XL fits just about right. Reading the other reviews regarding size, it sounds like there may be some inconsistancy in manufacture. Again, mine fits me well. I definitely plan to buy another one in a different color. Despite some of the other reviews, my shirt is very well constructed. The buttons, button holes, and seams are all very sturdy. BTW. . .of course one shouldn't expect any wrinkle problems in a fleece shirt, but I've fallen asleep wearing it and afterward it looked like it just came out of the dryer! Thanks once again for another great product, L.L. Bean.
