Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanOnMe Quilted Burgundy/Brown Faux-Shearling-Lined Boots
These are awesome for what they are. Kept my feet absolutely DRY through snow walking. To keep these pair snug on my feet - yes, most reviewers mentioned the loose heel and general roomy fit, they were truthful - I wore two pairs of socks, first fleece and topped it with ankle sock. To keep my feet really warm I added the all natural shearing insoles (sold separately).
Sliding in and out of them is their greatest advantage. Very easy, good for when taking old crying dog in and out on winter nights. A note about the red color: I'd describe it as a multi-dimensional red, changing between indoors and outdoors. Appears darker and more wino beautiful indoors and pops and becomes more like the pictured red when outdoors or in full light. And last and most important thing - yes you guessed it - they look REALLY great with pants tucked in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Midwestgirl1980 Super cute and warm
I bought these to replace a slip on pair of boots I bought last year. These are very stylish and a lot warmer than my non ll bean pair. I have athletic calves and these fit fine over my jeans. I debated between the brown or black and ended up going with the brown. I may have to come back and get the black!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CoolChick Fantastic, light weight warm boot
After reading reviews I was a bit worried that these would be going back. But NO WAY! These are fantastic. They are light weight, warm and comfotable. They feel like slippers on my feet. I didn't feel any of the scratching or irritation that others have reported. Yes the heel of the boot is loose-it's a slip/pull on. If it was tighter we'd be reading complaints about not being able to get your foot in. It doesn't slip that much and I think I've just found my perfect all around snow boot!

First of all, let me say these boots are well made and yes cute !
Secondly - they are wool so they are itchy, the heel is a little wide, the toe is too narrow and they do not easily slide on.
(note: I have small, narrow, flat feet)
I'm sad to be returning these but I will pick another LLBean option I just don't know if the higher priced boot is the way to go yet.
Overall, I am very happy with the quality and service from LLBean over the 35 years I have shopped with them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tlove Nice looking, but not worth the price.
Great looking boot! Fell in love with it in the magazine and received them as a Christmas present. If I could have tried them on first I would have never bought them. Rigid side pieces around the ankles rub raw spots with in a few minuets of wear. The fit is tight in the toe and is very lose and slides on the heel. I expected a lot more for the amount of money they cost and from LL Bean as a brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by formersouthernmainah attractive but functional boot
This boot is exactly what I wanted in a winter boot- lightweight, warm, waterproof, nice looking and within my budget. The lining is soft and cozy. The boot looks nice both with the top rolled down as well as up. I wear a 7.5 usually, and went with the 7 based on others' reviews. It fits like a glove, but I still will have space for a thicker pair of socks if necessary. They well fit over jeans, even though I have a wider, athletic calf. That is great to find, as I am constantly having problems finding a taller boot of any style that will fit over my calves. Overall I am very happy with my purchase of this boot. The heel of this boot is wide, but I have very narrow feet, so shoes slipping a little in the back is something I have always dealt with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tuna11 Good looking, poor fitting
As other reviewers have said this boot just doesn't fit well around the heel: much too much space. I've just received these boots in a sz 8, and when trying them on, my heel shifts around a lot. Feels very uncomfortable to walk. They will have to go back. A shame as the boot is exactly what I wanted for long walks on rougher winter days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by quesolover My favorite pair of winter boots.
It does not matter how wet and sludgy it is from snow or sleet, my feet are dry. They are waterproof, no fear of stepping in puddles in these. My feet stay warm. The best feature is the tread. It does not matter how slippery or icy it is out, I do not lose my balance or fall. My feet are firmly planted on the ground with each step, boots are worth it for that alone. Most boots, even boots labeled snow boots, do not grip well in snow or ice. It is amazing how stable you feel in these. They hold up great too. This is my third winter with mine. The faux-shearling does start to flatten, but they are still very warm. The fit is slightly large and the calf area is roomy enough for thicker calves. I am usually an 8 wide in new balance sneakers, for example the trail runners sold at L.L.Bean. I wear an 8 wide in heels always. I flop between an 8 regular and wide in (rhymes with) flarks. I say all this so you can compare and hopefully get yourself the right size the first order, if you cannot get to a store to try on. I read the reviews and purchased a size 7, one size down. I was a bit concerned they'd be too small, especially since I am a wide. If I wear thick hiking smartwool socks, any thick sock like rag wool, these boots fit like they were molded for my foot. A regular white sock, they are too big. They were definitely created for layering with thick winter socks. I would go down an entire size, as I did. I just want to thank the other reviewers that helped me get my right size. Thank you L.L.Bean for making winter boots I can go outside in without fear of breaking something!

The rubber bottom of this boot is not padded on the inside of the boot and is very uncomfortable around the ankle. Had to return them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by carolca Heel much too large
As other reviewers have said, the heel is much too big. the toe is tight enough and the boots are attractive, warm and comfortable. I love them except I keep walking out of the boot. they're fine if you're standing still but are extremely annoying if you try walking in them. I wear an 8 1/2 shoe and purchased an 8 boot. I couldn't go any smaller or the toe would be too tight. It seems like an 8 toe and a 9 or 10 heel.
