The barometric altimeter calculates precise altitude, ascent and descent rates, total climb distance and vertical speed. It also plots pressure trends for a 12-hour period, so you can anticipate weather changes.
The Vista HCx comes loaded with a recreational basemap for North and South America, detailed with general map data including highways, major roads, rivers, lakes and borders. It provides automatic route generation, off-route recalculation, turn-by-turn directions with alert tones, and icon-driven menus for finding points of interest (when combined with Garmin's optional MapSource® data).
Accepts a microSD data card, not included, to give you the option of adding highly detailed maps. A mini-USB port provides fast, convenient download of map data from Garmin's entire library of CDs, using your PC.
The MapSource® Trip and Waypoint Manager CD helps you plan trips on your PC and then transfer waypoints, routes and tracks to your Vista HCx.
