It only takes the push of a button for the MicroFix Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) to send your exact location to search-and-rescue personnel. Ideal for hiking, backcountry skiing, hunting, fishing or any other activity that takes you into remote areas.
In an emergency, activate by pushing the On/Off button for one second. The unit's GPS will acquire your latitude and longitude and transmit them with a distress signal via satellite to local rescue agencies. It will also send your personalized identifier code, which is created when you register the product online with NOAA's PLB database. This database allows emergency personnel to easily identify you. Registration before heading into the field is mandatory to ensure that the unit functions properly in an emergency situation.
Durable, waterproof polycarbonate construction withstands harsh conditions. Lanyard and removable holster let you mount the beacon on your backpack, vest, life jacket, jacket or belt. At 10 ounces, this unit adds very little weight to your load.
