Rated 5 out of 5 by StevenJC My second pair
I had to get a second pair. My son packed my first pair when heading off to college. Although it was backordered since February and just received in May, I really like these for many reasons. Not the least of which is that it keeps my feet dry in the winter months of snow and rain.
LL Bean customer service is also second to none. I was concerned about choosing the right size, but the online guidance and phone customer service really helped me with my choice and was accurate. That's why I'm a loyal customer.

Had two pairs, 6" and 8" heights. My six inch pair I had almost 20 years and was getting ready to send back for re-soling. Unfortunately my Lab puppy liked them as much as I did. The only thing left to send back were just the soles when he was done. Having enjoyed the first pair so much, he focused on my eight inch pair shortly thereafter when they were pressed into service. Lesson learned...keep them in a closed closet and you'll get 20 years or more... less the Lab. There's no better boot. Comfortable, durable (accordingly) and warm. They'll serve you well.

Ordered a 9 based on your recommendations,an 8.5 would have been better.
Fits fine with one pair of merino wool socks and another thinner pair.
Wore them all day working outside in damp conditions, feet stayed dry & toasty!
Kathy did a great job of crafting my boots, thank you!

I received my first pair of Bean Boots as a Christmas present and found they were much too large. I re-ordered a size smaller (typically wear 10.5, re-ordered a 9) and they arrived a few months later (note, this delay was expected due to the backorders). I received my new boots a couple weeks ago and have worn them a few times. They'll need some time and exposure to the elements to break in, but thus far, I have no complaints.

I haven't owned the boots for enough time to give a complete review. However, in the brief time I have had them I have learned a few things. They were worth the wait (3 months backorder), the quality is as good as advertised, and most importantly everyone should follow the sizing guidelines. I wear a size 12-12.5 in regular shoes, I followed the sizing instructions and ordered size 11. I was very skeptical and worried that I would have to return them, they not only fit great but they are on the larger end. I have plenty of room for thick socks if I wanted. I would absolutely recommend these boots and I hope LL Bean never compromises its quality standards.

I order my daughter and myself a pair of the 6 inch boots. The boots are great. The sizing chart was right on. Give yourself sometime when you order. The boots are on back order most of the time. But they will keep you in the loop about when they ship or if for some reason that they would be a delay. The people that answer there phones are GREAT. Very nice and seem like they want to answer your questions.

I ordered these for my son for Christmas, and they were on a 3-month backorder. He attends college in Florida and was happy to have them in time for the rainy season. I ordered them in his normal size, and he said they fit well, look good and keep his feet dry.
Apparently these are popular among the college crowd. Another L.L. Bean classic!

The 6" height works for me since I do not face snow in Atlanta area. I just wanted something for keeping feet dry and warm. In dress shoes I wear a 10.5 B. I ordered a 9 narrow and they work fine with medium weight wool socks. I look forward to next winter and spring baseball in February and March.
