Rated 3 out of 5 by ggmiele bought 3 pair and none fit
I wear a size 8.5 - I ordered 2: the 8.5 felt good but as soon as I went out for a long walk my toes hit the front = bad. I tried the 8.5 wide but they did not give enough support. So finally I tried the 9 - but they were just way too big. Disappointed because they are very lightweight and otherwise comfortable.

I first bought these boots in October, 2011, and have been using them for hikes and walks 2 to 3 times per week ever since. I have a wide foot and these are very comfortable. They stay dry through creeks and mud. They have good traction and good ankle support too. So I just bought a spare pair which will come in handy I am sure.

I love these boots! These are my second pair (my husband accidentally toasted my first pair on a backpacking trip) and they are wonderful. There are so comfortable that there was virtually no break-in period. I wore them all day when they arrived, and my feet felt fine at the end of the day. They are rugged but attractive, feel as comfortable as a sneaker but with all the support of a boot, and are appropriately sized. I can't see myself ever buying another type of hiking boot again!

I purchased these shoes in May 2012. I now have to replace them with something else because the soles are completely worn out. Moreover, these shoes have not seen daily use, so the soles should have lasted longer.

Janelle Sturdy and Cute Hiking Boots
I liked Bean's Trail Model Hikers II Mid-Cut so much that I ordered an identical pair in the lower-cut version.
Bean's Trail Model Hikers are waterproof and sturdy without being too heavy. I wore the boots in the snow on a March hike in Shenandoah National Park and my feet stayed dry and warm.
I paired the boots with a midweight hiking sock and it worked well.
I think these boots will last for years.

Have had these boots for a few months and wanted to get them broken in before I wrote a review. I usually wear a 9.5 but ordered a size 10. I wear these boots with a sturdy pair of wool socks and they fit perfectly. They took about 5 miles (a mile or so at a time) to get fully broken in. At first they rubbed a bit around my ankles, but now they don't rub anywhere on my feet or ankles. They are warm and pretty waterproof. I wear them in mud, a bit of snow, puddles and such on the trail and my feet have stayed dry. I find these boots run a tiny bit short so size up 1/2 size..they run fine on width.

Rated 4 out of 5 by AdventurousDaughter Great, lightweight hikers
My daughter is off to Tanzania this summer and she needed a good sturdy pair of hikers. These are not only cute (she is 16) but they are lightweight, provide good ankle support and seem perfect for what she needs them for.
I'll be sure to send a picture of her wearing them - on Mt. Kilimanjaro!

I am very pleased with my hiking boots. The initial fit concerned me, as they felt snug, but after walking around my house in them it felt as though they relaxed. I am happy with how they fit now and there hasn't been anymore discomfort. They are perfectly comfortable and I can't wait to go hiking in them this summer!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by BeanShopper4545 So sad to have to return these
I loved the look of this hiking boot & purchased it even though another customer had indicated it hurt the back of her leg. It did. I wore it around the house for several days & took a walk around the block in them, but still they hurt the back of my legs like crazy. I'm so sorry I have to give them up. Other than the backs of my legs, the fit was great and the look was excellent!

The back of the boot pushes your leg forward so standing upright is uncomfortable. The size runs small, I usually wear a 7.5 and an 8 was still too small and VERY NARROW. I have never had a problem with shoe width but this one, even in a larger size, had a narrow toe box.
