An avid outdoorsman, Leon Leonwood Bean wanted to create a comfortable, dry pair of boots for tromping through the backwoods of Maine. Combining the waterproof protection of rubber-bottom boots with the supple comfort of leather, he created an innovative product that has stood the test of time. Today our boots are still sewn right here in Maine, one pair at a time, from superior full-grain leather that sheds rain and snow. Uniquely shaped foot form offers stability and comfort. Steel shank adds support. Rubber chain-tread bottom provides traction and durability while keeping your feet dry.
L.L.Bean Boot Fit Information
The fit of the L.L.Bean Boot is generous to allow for insulation in cold weather.
To wear with light or midweight socks: If you wear a whole size, order one size down from your normal size. If you wear a half size, order one and a half sizes down.
Example: If you wear either a 9 or a 9½, order a size 8.
To wear with heavyweight socks: If you wear a whole size, order your normal size. If you wear a half size, order the next whole size down.
Example: If you wear either a 9 or a 9½, order a size 9.
