2005 Summit Safety Harness

Dear Valued Customer,

Our records show that you purchased or received a 2005 Summit Safety Harness, which was included in the accessory packet of your Summit Treestand, after June 2005. Summit Treestands, LLC has worked with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to voluntarily recall the safety harnesses sold with the following treestands at L.L.Bean: Summit Viper X5 (0BRC2), Summit Bushmaster X5 (5N887) and Summit Bullet Backpacker (5J639). FOR YOUR SAFETY PLEASE STOP USING THE HARNESS IMMEDIATELY. During a fall, a manufacturing defect may result in product failure, posing an injury hazard.

As a valued L.L.Bean customer, we would like to assist you with this recall. Please click here to review the Safety Recall Product Description and instructions for return. If your safety harness meets the recall criteria, please cut the harness as instructed and return the cut portion to us. (This method of disabling the original harness is a safety measure, ensuring that it is safely destroyed.) At your request, a replacement harness will be sent to you when we receive the cut portion of the harness.
