Kickapoo State Park has a wealth of recreational activities, from canoeing and fishing to hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
The 2,842-acre park contains several lakes and ponds, and the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River, Illinois's only National Scenic River, runs through it.
Trails include 11 miles for mountain bikes and more than 13 miles for hikers and equestrians. In winter, cross-country skiers use the hiking and equestrian trails.
Canoes can be rented for use on Long Pond and the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River. Rental horses are also available.
Scuba divers who register and show proper certification may dive in the clear, deep waters of Inland Sea and Sportsman's Lake.
The river, lakes and ponds yield bass, crappie, sunfish, catfish and rainbow trout, which are stocked in fall and spring.
The park has 183 tent and RV campsites.
