Alamo Lake State Park is found at the base of rugged mountains in a desert sprinkled with saguaros. Alamo Lake is one of the best bass fishing lakes in Arizona. The campgrounds at Alamo Lake have tremendous views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Hikers can explore against the backdrop of the picturesque Rawhide and Buckskin mountains. Wildlife include quail, deer, coyote and bald eagles. Multitudes of great blue herons, cattle egrets, American white pelicans and bald eagles make their home at the lake. Wild burros also stroll around the park. There is a camp store for last-minute purchases of bait and other supplies. Boat rentals are also available. Park facilities include campgrounds, a launch ramp, picnic tables, grills, restrooms, showers, a fish cleaning station and a playground. Quiet hours at the park are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
