This management area, covering 6.300 acres of fields, hedgerows and woods, protects three lakes that are outstanding for fishing and waterfowl viewing. Lake Assunpink, the largest, is home to bass, channel catfish, chain pickerel and black crappie. During fall, the lake is a popular resting stop for Canada geese and ducks. The wildlife management area is one of the best birdwatching areas in central Jersey during spring and summer. It hosts grasshopper and vesper sparrows and several owl and hawk species. Northern harriers are common during fall and winter.
