Just the boat trip to beautiful Grindstone Island justifies a visit to Canoe-Picnic Point in the Thousand Islands region. Accessible only by private boat, the 70-acre park on Grindstone Island is also popular with anglers and campers. A mile of shoreline faces Eel Bay and the Canadian Channel of the St. Lawrence River. There are 25 tent sites and five isolated cabins. The best access is from either Wellesley Island just over the Thousand Islands bridge or from Grass Point State Park on Rte 12, one mile south of the Thousand Islands Bridge.
