Wildlife in Mungo National Park includes kangaroos, lizards and geckos.

Mungo National Park, situated in Australia's New South Wales region, is 69 miles northeast of Mildura.

The park contains a portion of the Willandra Lakes Region, a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization World Heritage Site.

The now dry lakes have a history of Aboriginal life dating back 40,000 years. Skeletal remains and artifacts of past inhabitants have been found in the area.

The park is known for the "Walls of China," a 19-mile crescent-shaped dune of orange and white. This attraction is an archeological site, with fossils embedded in the western eroded side.

Wildlife in Mungo National Park includes kangaroos, lizards and geckos. There is also a variety of bird species such as emus and orange and white-fronted chats.

There is a visitor center, open daily, as well as a self-guided driving tour enabling visitors to explore a wide area of the park.

Accommodation provisions include Mungo Lodge, located just outside of the park and offering motel and cottage lodgings and food. Camping is available in the park.
