Iguazú Falls, a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization World Heritage Site, is part of a unique jungle ecosystem protected by parks in Argentina and Brazil that border the cascades. The river falls about 231 feet and creates 275 falls, mostly on the Argentine side of the border. From the Argentine side, you can walk on boardwalks over and through the falls. You can take photo safaris or a boat tour of the falls. Some companies also offer helicopter tours over the falls. Above the falls, you can enjoy paddle sports and wildlife observation in the park's 136,000 acres of rain forest. The jungle vegetation surrounding the falls supports 2,000 plant species including ferns, lianas and orchids and birds such as parrot and toucans. Wildlife includes jaguar and caiman.
