The nature center at Pokagon State Park houses a variety of cultural and wildlife exhibits.

The a smaller entrance gatehouse at Pokagon was designed to blend in with the original gatehouse built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935.

Lake-effect snow makes this park in northeastern Indiana one of the best places to cross-country ski and snowshoe in the state.

Another winter attraction at Pokagon that does not depend on snow or winter weather is the refrigerated, quarter-mile toboggan run, which operates from the day after Thanksgiving through the last Sunday in February, on weekends. It is open daily between Christmas and New Year's holidays.

During warmer months, hikers enjoy 13.7 miles of trails around Lake James and Snow Lake, two of more than 100 glacial lakes in the county. Fishing, horseback riding, boating, swimming, bicycling, camping, group camp, and picnicking are also available.

The historic park with Civilian Conservation Corps structures provides a perfect backdrop for all outdoor activities.

The park's historic Potawatomi Inn offers 138 guest rooms, two restaurants, complete conference center, and an indoor pool. The Nature Center offers interpretive programs for all ages year-round.
