Running through the famous Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey, this scenic and recreational area includes many of the Great Egg Harbor River's tributaries.

This is the largest canoeing river in the Barrens and is near the urban centers of Philadelphia, Trenton, N.J., and Wilmington, Del.

The recreational segment of the river is 129 miles.

There are no National Park Service facilities. However, recreational facilities and services can be found in state forests, county parks, national wildlife refuges and private campgrounds along the river.
