Pisgah State Park, in the towns of Winchester, Chesterfield and Hinsdale, covers nearly 14,000 acres of undeveloped land.
Hiking, hunting, fishing, ski touring and snowshoeing are popular. There are about 60 miles of trails, of which about 20 are available for mountain biking.
Some sections of the trails are available for all-terrain vehicles and snowbiles while others are for hiking only. The park has developed an interpretive self-guided tour of 19th-century mill sites, dams and graveyards.
No overnight camping or campfires are allowed.
There are seven bodies of water in the park, with carry-in canoeing. Bass fishing is good in the Pisgah Reservoir.
A visitor center, staffed intermittently, is at the main park entrance on Old Chesterfield Road in Winchester.
