Official Outfitter for the Mount Washington Observatory
As the official outfitter for the Mount Washington Observatory, L.L.Bean provides extreme-weather outerwear for the summit staff. In turn, they test our products in the harshest conditions to ensure that L.L.Bean outerwear consistently delivers superior performance – no matter how extreme the weather is.

Webcam Views of the World's Worst Weather
Not every day brings extreme weather to Mount Washington, but it routinely sees some of the coldest weather in North America. It has also been home to the world's highest recorded wind speed – 231 mph on April 12, 1934.

Now you can experience the beauty and extreme conditions of Mount Washington via webcams – without leaving the comfort of your home. Cameras are located in surrounding areas with views of Mount Washington, as well as on the summit looking out at Mounts Jefferson, Madison and Adams and the Carter Range. L.L.Bean is an underwriter of the Webcam Network, which showcases live shots that are updated throughout each day.
