Everyone has heard that good things come in small packages, but we set out to prove just how many good things you can fit into one.
We came up with a jacket you can wear year-round, as a layer in winter or a jacket in spring and fall and cool summer nights. The warmth comes from lofty 60-gram PrimaLoft One polyester insulation, along with ultralight ripstop nylon that helps resist wind and weather without restricting mobility. Elastic cuffs and a drawcord hem keep body heat from escaping.
The light-yet-dense materials we used to construct this jacket make it not only lightweight it weighs just 12 ounces, less than a can of soda but also highly compressible. The jacket packs into its own pocket to about the size of a water bottle, so it takes up minimal space in your pack, in your car or hanging on your coatrack wherever you think you might need an extra layer.
Spring jacket, fall jacket, winter layer, wind and weather resistant shell, emergency jacket that fits just about anywhere that's a lot for one small package, and for a lot less than you might expect.
