King Pine Dome Tent HD

Hi. My name is Kevin Nadeau, and I'm the product developer for camping equipment at L.L.Bean. The King Pine has always been our most-popular family tent, but we never stop listening to our customers. And this year, we've made some changes to make the tent even easier to set up. All you have to do is insert one end of each pole into the hub, click it into the bottom, and then walk around and attach all the color-coded clips.

I think what families really love about the King Pine Dome is how versatile it is. You have two rooms in the tent. The main room is where you would sleep. There's plenty of room to stand up, change your clothes, plenty of room to spread out the sleeping bags. The front room is a screen room so it gives you a place to escape from the insects, or wait out a passing shower. The rain fly is a full coverage rain fly, which keeps the screen room and the main room of the tent dry.

All the tents that L.L.Bean makes are completely waterproof. We tape all seams at the factory and they're guaranteed not to leak. We use extra-heavy-duty urethane coatings on the floors, and we use special polyester fabrics in the flies that won't absorb moisture and won't sag when they do get wet. One of the nice features about this tent – and, really, all of the L.L.Bean tents – is that we sew the instructions inside the storage sack on waterproof paper so they're always there when you need them.
