Just opened my order and found the sweater to be poorly made. The zipper was very flimsy and stuck every time I tried to adjust it.
It also seemed small for a Large. I will give it a second chance this time and exchange it because I have several pullover sweaters from L.L.Bean that I like very much. This one was a disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bearo Better than I expected
And I expected to like it because it's not just cashmere, expensive, but it's from LLBean. It is as soft as a kitten, the sizing is spot on. Sleeves more than cover the wrist, but not too long. The kangaroo pockets just take it over the top. The zipper is set in sturdily, so there won't be any hang-up issues there. And I can easily see dressing up its casual look by slipping a scarf under the hoodie back and letting it wrap/swag around the front. Can you tell? I love this item and can't wait for cooler weather to try to wear it threadbare! (Being cashmere, that will take some time.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hike40 Warm and soft
This cashmere sweater, hoodie is nicer than I expected. The thickness of the weave is nicer than previous cashmere I have purchased from Bean. When I wore out my old one I was glad you still had something comparable. Although I really liked the button cardigan I will get used to the zip model. The hood is a nice addition. great for shoulder seasons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by raconteur Mother-in-law loves it!
This was a great gift for my mother-in-law who's always chilly. She said it was soft and cozy - so much so that she started wearing it immediately! Highly recommend (and I may get one for my mom next. Or me?)

Rated 4 out of 5 by maryce warm but pills
I wore my light grey cashmere hoodie a lot this winter and loved it. With regret, I had to let it go as it was so pilled I didn't think I could salvage it. Now I'm waiting to see the item on sale so I can get another for next winter. The lightness of the texture, which is so comfortable, is probably the downside of the pilling. The rating would be excellent if not for that issue.

I buy these cashmere hoodies for my wife in mainly black and grey, she loves them, so soft and not itchy of course they pill, all cashmere pills, that's why depillers were invented, a little pricey but well worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by busynewjerseyan nice cashmere but needs double zipper back!
I like the cashmere of this sweater. It is a nice thickness and soft, but having bought a shelf-full of Bean cashmere hoodies in the past (and i've been waiting for a light grey one for a long time to replace one devoured by moths), i was quite disappointed that the double zipper was done away with. This makes it less versatile in both utilization and fit. Personally i prefer a hoodie without the tighter ribbed bottom. A few years ago Bean had a bunch of such hoodies for a while. I loved those and got them in practically every color. Two got eaten by moths and i still kept wearing them with the holes. One had to be thrown out, another has been repaired a couple times. The style of those was extremely versatile because it could go from semi-dress to casual. Also it was a very forgiving fit. Then they started with the tighter fitting ribbed hem ones. Completely different story. Of course if someone likes fitted, that's one thing, but i prefer a more forgiving fit in a hoodie, especially in the hips. The longer length is ok, and even the ribbing is tolerable if i get a slightly larger size, but please bring back the double zipper! For this price i think it's not a luxury.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DPstar May feel itchy to some, but otherwise nice hoodie
Some who are sensitive may find this item a little itchy. I'm one of those people. I kept it because I wear it over a long-sleeve T so none of it really touches my skin. (Around my neck a little, but... eh.) If I had to wear it, for instance, over a cami, it would definitely bother me. But again, I'm super sensitive that way. Otherwise, it's warm and I love the gray. I wear it under a thin, shiny, lightweight black puffer vest with jeans. I have not experienced any pilling as others have mentioned, but this is not a daily hoodie for me. It's more or less in a rotation of other sweaters I own. I'd actually consider getting another color if it went on sale again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MichiganMSW I wanted to like this sweater
This sweater s being returned today. I wore it once and it pilled so much that there was no way I could keep it. I found it to be rather light weight as well. Not the quality I have come to expect from llbean.

I initially got heather gray one. Loved all about it - comfy, fits quite nicely, so I added blue to my collection as well. Now gray is pretty much not wearable. I brush to remove pills, wear for a day at work and it looks again like cheap old polyester before it is even time to go back home. Blue is doing a bit better, but when compared to LLBean turtleneck of exactly same shade blue purchased several years ago it is obvious that it is pilling too much. Cashmere costs what is costs because it is supposed to be lasting a really long time and looking beautiful all that time. In fact none of my other cashmere sweaters are pilling.
I am considering to attempt returning both at this point. Even though I like everything else about them. Since one color is doing much worse for me, I wonder if some other colors do not have this defect at all. Might try purchasing different color again for next year if no more pilling reviews.
