We have purchased these coats for our girls for the past 7 years. With 2 girls each coat gets worn by both kids. The zipper pull broke. Not in a way you could just use a safety pin! More like a sharp piece that was hard to zip especially for a kid. Once we called and informed LLBean they sent a new one. They even let us pick the color. BUMMER part...coats take a long time to dry after playing in snow. When I wash them, I dry a little and let them hang. The cuffs take forever! I've tried turning inside out, laying it flat, etc...
Overall great coat

Rated 5 out of 5 by CurvedMom Daughter actually wears it!
My daughter will rarely wear a jacket. She is pleased with the shape, fit and style of this jacket and can be persuaded to wear it on cold days, so a win for us! She states it keeps her very warm.

My granddaughter wore this jacket snow skiing several days ago. The jacket was perfect. She did not get cold or wet.

I was looking for a warm jacket for my daughter that wasn't hard to get on and off like the 3 in 1's are. This fits the bill. The only complaint I have is that the sizes skip from 8 to 10/12 so it's pretty roomy. She could have used a straight size 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jpyles Exceptional Quality
I only buy LL Bean coats for my Daughters. The coats keep the daughters warm when it is below zero outside. The Girls love the colors they come in and Mom likes knowing that her daughters are staying warm and dry. They coats last a long time and are always handed down to other kids to wear. The coats are handed down several times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by IronWoman Great parka, awesome service
My review will be in part of the parka itself, and in part of the over-the-top amazing service by LLBean. To begin the story, I had purchased another parks a full year and a half ago for my oldest daughter (Snowscape, no longer available) - bought it during Spring sale for following winter. She wore the coat through the winter (age 6, turning 7) without complaint. This winter put it on my next child and she could not zip it up - caught in fabric every time, a real design flaw for a kids' coat. Turns out oldest daughter couldn't either and just never said anything - wore the darn thing open all winter at school! Probably zipped it myself when she was home so never noticed. Anyway, I called LLBean and explained the situation and they replaced the Snowscape with this beautiful Snowfield coat as a direct exchange - I had got the first coat at almost half price and was not charged any extra even though this new one is not on sale. It arrived super-fast (less than 2 days) and we love the new coat (the one this review is for) - very easy for child to zip on her own, gorgeous color, nice and toasty. Kudos to LLBean for standing behind their products so long after purchase and understanding child needs so well - AND being sympathetic to a child who didn't bother to let me know there was a problem until a year later! Will continue to purchase coats here because of awesome quality and service!

It is really wonderful light weight jacket. My daughter loves the fresh color and has been wearing it from the time we bought it and very happy about it.

I can't review this coat past the fact that, like most LL Bean kids clothing items these days, it is very boxy. I typically appreciate the Bean quality - esp their outerwear - but at this point, the boxiness of Bean clothing precludes me from buying it anymore for my (thin) 9 year old and my (average/athletic) 11 year old. The boxiness aside, the 8 is too small but the 10/12 is way too big (far too big to grow into).

Rated 4 out of 5 by SomeWhereOverTheRainbow Screen Printed Stripes
The colors on the coat are really beautiful. The stripes on the jacket are screen printed along with the LL Bean reflective triangle patch on the back is also screen printed. I thought the stripes would be sewn into the coat, so it kind of cheapens the look of the coat! I can tell the patch on the back already has some pin pricks on it so I don't know if it will last very long even though my daughter hasn't worn it yet. I like the waterproof feature and the coat is not bulky at all. I would have liked it to be a bit longer in the back and all around. It is called a parka but I would call it more like a jacket (shorter than most parkas). I bought size 8 for my seven year old, who is about 50 inches and 47 pounds. It is big enough to wear for two seasons.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MNmom11 Almost 5 stars!
This jacket appears to be very warm and the colors are great. It's not overly bulky which is a plus. Haven't tried it out in the cold yet but I'm sure it will keep my child cozy. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the stripes on the jacket are screen printed (which you can't tell from the online photos) and up close it cheapens up the overall look of the jacket- wish they had been pieced in/stitched on.
