Rated 5 out of 5 by BuenaOnda29 Quality pack
Feels solid and can fit the essentials inside nicely. Overall a great daypack or commuter bag. Has a laptop sleeve which is good for when I take it work. No complaints

This is a great bag and I would have bought one, however the zipper on the top flap needs to be in the top not the bottom. if you have stuff in there and unzip it, all of your stuff will wind up on the ground.

I travel to work on foot in Montana and I cut through the woods and mountains on my walk to work. I like to have a big backpack as I add sand for more weight for better exercise. I put this pack to the test with 50 pounds of sand, my lunchbox, my book and my camera gear. Everything fit well and the pack handled the weight - the pack did not strain at all and it felt good on my back. Furthermore, I was in a hurry and tossed it fully loaded on the floor when I got home- no problems for this bag. If you are looking for a simple backpack that can handle the weight and take a beating, this is your bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JeremyDC Excellent Quality - Design Issues
As usual for Bean products, this pack is constructed and made excellently. I just have a few issues with the design that bothered me, and led me to exchange it for the Continental Rucksack. First, what I loved: the look. It's got a great profile, nice and tall and slim, with a classic appeal. I didn't like how the top cinched up under the top flap though. Also, I liked how long the top flaps' straps are. They can be used for lashing items to the outside of the bag, expanding the amount you can carry. What really bothered me were the zipper pockets and lack thereof. Both the inside and outside ones are oriented in a way that they open downward when the top flap is closed. This makes sense for the inside one, since you need to open the flap to get to it, orienting it upward. But, for the outside one, unless you open the flap upward, the contents of the pocket spill out. I'd like to have better quick access pockets on the outside, to use when you don't want to open up the pack. Perhaps along the side or on the front of the bag, so you can swing it around, unzip and grab something quickly. I also think this bag could use a bit more structure from a flexible plastic piece on the back of the bag, so it keeps its shape and the items you stuff in there don't dig into your back. Bottom line: it's a great quality item, but I don't like some of the design elements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RichofPDX Uncluttered
I bought this bag to go "minimalist" on a European trip and I really like it. It has a large capacity without bulk and looks uncluttered (no straps, bells or whistles hanging from the outside). The computer sleeve could be wider for better protection although depth-wise is smart because the sleeve does not go all the way to the bottom so my MacBook doesn't hit the ground when I put the pack down.
