I purchased 4 of these rugs previously to use in our condo, this was about a year ago. Recently purchased 2 more and there is a change in the product. They are lighter in weight which I assume has to do with the rubber backing. Additionally, one of the rugs was wrapped so tightly for shipping that there are ripples in the rug, I'm still waiting to see if those will smooth out and allow the rug to lie flat. I'm expecting the rugs will be OK in the long run but they are certainly not the same quality as the rugs purchased last year.

I purchased this rug to be placed at the end of a hallway that leads out to the back deck. Purchased the light brown to go on medium brown wood floors because I didn't want the rug to stand out. It works perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Evelyn3170 Not as nice as older rugs same style...
I have purchased several of these waffle rugs (the small size with rubber backing ) over the last ten years....(2 houses)....and they are not as nice as in the past. Be especially careful if you have hardwood floors and use these as a doormat....water goes through and will damage the floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FbksLLBeanshopper Fantastic Door Mat
I recently purchased my first home and was looking for a larger door mat for my entry way--I have a dog and living in a snowy environment, needed a tough rug that could stand up to heavy wear and tear. This rug fits the bill-I bought the cinder in the 2' x 4' size. It's the perfect size and I love the color. It can hide dirt. It's a well-made rug, worth the price. Note: I use this rug on a linoleum floor and do not need the anti-slip rug mat for this size.

Love this rug runner for the Master Bedroom (looks great and helps keep dogs from slipping on the wood flooring). I'm going to order an area rug in the same pattern & color (TWIG, which is a warm, light golden sand color) for another area of the room.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ThisIsMyReview Color awful, nothing soft about rug.
I bought two waffle-weave rugs 2' 6" X 4' 2" and two 3' 6"x 5'. All 4 rugs are wheat. They are a golden color; definitely NOT what is shown on the website, and definitely NOT what I would have ordered. The backings on the two different sizes are different; the smaller ones do not need rug pads--they stay in place. The larger ones definitely need rug pads, which I did not order because other reviewers said that they returned their rugs pads as they did not need them. These rugs are not at all soft, as some reviewers stated. To make matters worse, they were packed & shipped individually in clear plastic bags, not boxes. So returning them would be a major project since the plastic bags can't be reused since they were cut open. So it looks like I'm stuck with $300.00 worth of rugs (and still have to buy rug pads for 2 of them) that I don't like; my only hope is that they wear out fast and that the reviewers are wrong about them lasting forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SusieJoe68 Nice Looking and Durable
I have two of these runners -- one at each door -- to catch all the dirt my two crazy Border Collies drag in. They stand up to everything beautifully, and the dirt just vacuums right up. One even soaked up all the water that leaked through the ceiling from a burst pipe during our recent cold snap -- it saved my hardwood floors by taking the hit. It was soaking wet, so I put it outside. It froze solid in the 10-degree temperatures, but when it thawed out, I brought it right back in, and it's back in business.
I've had both rugs for about five years now, and came back to look for another, but they don't have the sage green color I liked. L.L. Bean, if you bring back the lighter green, I'm in for a third!

These waffle-weave rugs are the best thing in the world. The loops are dense, and they have the appearance of a quality rug. I have checked rugs at many other vendors, but LLBean nails it with these rugs. Who would've thought, where Bean is mostly known for their clothing.
I chose dark olive for the rug I ordered. Ladies, it is beautiful! I was worried that it might be drab, but it is not. It is not a solid color, but, rather, it has lighter flecks of cream/pale wheat weaved in, which gives it a wonderful depth. Very, very happy with my color selection.

Purchased this rug a few years ago to use in area near kitchen sink, even though spot cleaning or dry cleaning were recommended. A few fibers do snag a bit, but that seems to lessen with age and use. For quite some time, I spot cleaned areas from spills, etc. But then rug starting looking dingy, as those areas seemed to soil more quickly. I decided to throw the rug in my front load washer. It came out great! Do not put in dryer, as that can do damage to the rubber backing. Now I wash the rug when it looks soiled, hang to dry, and put back in place. I expect to get many more years of use from it. It's a heavy rug, so does stay in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by citygirlcountrygirl Can you love a rug?
This rug/runner is great! Much nicer in person. Our laundry/mud room needed some help in looking better, so I thought I would try the Waffle Weave Runner since the reviews were so good. I ordered it in wheat and voila! our mud room has been transformed into a nice looking entryway. A friend came to the side door, entered and immediately said "where did you get that rug?" He loved it. It is soft to step on, and the design looks rich and sculptural in the light. It adds a Zen feeling to the previously jumbled room. We liked it so much, I ordered a small one for the living room, in front of the door to the deck. Looks great there too!
