Rated 5 out of 5 by FieldandFashion Oh, I Love Them
Just got these and I'm wearing them around the house with all my new LL Bean Fall gear singing "oh I love them, their so cozy, their so pretty, their so w- a-r-m, warm," to the tune of "hallelujah". I never associated LL Bean with Fashion and function, but I am now a diehard convert. Besides that, everyone at the Freehold Store are so nice I want to take them home with me. Back to the shoes, I did the slip and slide test and my feed didn't move, which means I won't be sliding around this winter. I can't wait for the snow, bring it on, I'm ready.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jennww2ns "Minimal Grey" is actually Lilac
I ordered these in wide width to be sure my feet had room. I usually wear a regular width so long as they are cut generously (think Keen).
They fit well without being too roomy and I could easily wear an extra pair of socks if I needed. Which I don't because they are warm enough with just a light athletic sock. I wear them throughout the day in a heated office and notice by feet get warm but not sweaty.
They are cut higher than regular 'sneakers' and I do have a new wear marks on my ankles by the end of the season. It took a few weeks to wear them in as they are quite stiff but they are well worth it. They are most definitely waterproof and nearly slip resistant. I am usually a hesitant walker but have gained confidence wearing these.
My 4 stars (rather than 5) is due to A) the color (they are called "Minimal Grey" but are most definitely lilac) and B) a strange seem in the heel that occasionally rubs if I don't tie my shoes tight enough.

Shoes are too stiff and cut too high at the ankle. I returned them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SnowLeopard Great Shoes!
I bought these just before a trip to Ireland in November because I did not know what kind of weather to expect. Well, it was mostly rain. All I can say is that once I received them I only had a couple of days to break them in and found that I did not really need to break them in at all. They were true to size. No discomfort at all. I also found out that they indeed are waterproof and quite warm, but not too warm. We spent more several hours with intermittent pouring down rain and I mean I was sloshing through puddles. My feet were amazingly dry and very happy. What a God send. Since then, I have also worn to hike through sometimes ankle deep snow and they have performed beautifully! I still prefer snow boots for deeper snow, but these are great for lighter snow situations and not bad on ice either.

I started out a few years ago..actually almost 7...with your boot/high top version of this shoe. It was amazing. I wore it all over Santa Fe, NM on a Christmas vacation. At the time, I had horrible plantar fasciitis, and these shoes were so comfy and supportive, I had no pain the entire week. A woman my husband worked with (in Alaska) had her home burn to the ground after we returned from our trip. Everyone was collecting things to help her get by, and luckily she wore my size shoe (8W). I immediately sent my snow sneakers off to keep her feet warm. A year or so passed before I ordered another pair; only this time I order the low cut sneaker. These are just as wonderful as the high top version. It's the only shoe I walk in; I never wear the $140 "walking shoes" I bought at the local running store. Thanks Bean...don't change a thing!

I have the brown/blue shoe and it is just beautiful! I actually had 3 people comment on the nice color the first time I wore them!! Even though I always wear a wide width, mine are the average width and they actually fit. I read some reviews saying they are very stiff but I haven't found that to be true. I am happy with mine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarleneInCanada Great for the snow
I ordered so I could continue my walks while visiting near Montreal which has snow on the ground. I needed good tread and waterproof when the snow melts. I have used them for a week and have never had wet feet. Tread has helped me prevent falls. I think this is a great shoe for my purpose which is exercise walks.
There is plenty of room for thick socks but I have not had cold feet while wearing the shoes in the snow. They do not feel too tight or too loose Length for me is just right.

Well, these were returned. The cut of the shoe led to bleeding underneath my ankle bones--the shoes just cut in and rubbed. I also got large blisters between my big toes and the toe next to the big toes. Maybe someone else would not have this experience, but these did not work for me.

Shoe fit well considering my left is slightly larger than right. However, on both feet, the "tongue" did not feel right. It was stiff and actually "dug" into leg as one walked. Very uncomfortable. However, I pulled the tongue forward and tied a little looser --- after a couple of wears felt better. However, the bottom of these sneakers are great --- have worn walking with slight ice / snow on the ground and great traction. Shoe very warm --- don't need heavier socks. "Tongue" on shoe definitely needs a re-design. Ordered this shoe at a good discount --- if purchased at full price probably would have returned shoe.
