I ordered size 10/12 for my 9 year old, he is average size. They are nice and roomy, almost too big. They should fit for a year or more. Compared to Under Armour boys loose fit medium (camo decal) tee the LL Bean tee is about the same size. With the exception being the LL Bean sleeves are 1" longer, body 1/2" longer, same width, but slightly larger neck hole. I would say they run only slightly small. If you are unsure call LL Bean for garment measurements! They are a huge help! Thank you for making age appropriate and cool shirts! He picked the camo polar/bear and sprout/buck (greenish yellow with gray) for back to school.

Like many other reviews here, I agree that the sizing is too small. Unfortunately I can't get this particular graphic in a larger size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ClassicMomShopper Sizing problems!!
The shirts are well made. Fabric is good quality. Substantial and yet lightweight and cool for summer. However, sizing is just wrong. Description states that it is slightly slimmer than last year. But this is more than a slimmer fit. This is a complete revamp of sizing, which now makes sizing inconsistent with other brands. I compared last year's shirt (which has been washed and dried for a year), and found it to be INCHES smaller at the shoulders as well as through torso. The large 14/16 is actually more like a size 10 shirt. My son prefers his shirts loose and comfy. So sad - they have changed the fit so dramatically that it no longer appeals. Will be returning.

This seems to be a pretty well made shirt, but boy, does it run super small. Bought a large shirt for my 11 year old grandson, he could not even get it over his shoulders. I am very disappointed in this purchase, but won't send it back because I have a younger grandchild that can wear it. I would not recommend this shirt nor would I purchase this again.

I sent the link for the t-shirts for our 2 grandsons so they could make their own choices. They loved that and they love the shirts now that spring is finally here in New England!

Love the graphics and material is good. However sizing I feel runs small. I bought a xlarge(18-20)but compared to another company I shop at , it was comparable to a (14-16). I had planned on using it 2 seasons. Won't be possible.

While the material is soft and the graphics appealing, the size runs really small.
I bought four of these tees.
The size 4 is tight on my grandson who usually finds a 4 too large.
The size 4 will fit the 3 year old who normally wears a size 3.
I don't even think the size 8 will fit the other grandchildren who generally wear a size 6 and a size 7.
Very disappointing purchase. Price even on sale is more expensive than the price of tees from a national chain whose quality and sizing is much better.

Since LL Bean has earned our confidence with their craftsmanship over the years when it came time to let our 6 year old son chose his own clothes we natural turned to LL Bean. Without concern of him picking something out that looked nice when we bought it and bad a short time later we launched the LL Bean web-site and let him have a go at it.
He chose several different colors and prints. Since LL Bean does a great job at offering different style pants with colors that match their shirt, my son had no problem choosing matching outfits. What a great experience!!! Thanks LL Bean for a well thought-out product line.
