Rated 5 out of 5 by gerryhiker great low cut hiking shoes.
I have a somewhat narrow foot and have found most hiking shoes are not a good fit. These salomon shoes fit great, no break in period. I now only buy salomon shoes, I also have the higher model.

I have only had them for a short period of time but I have taken them on a 6 mile run, walks, and small hikes. I would like to see the draw sting instead of the laces but that's splitting hairs

Size 13 (men) fit my husband's left foot. On downhill descents while hiking, his right toe felt a lot of pressure. They seem to be fitting better with each wearing. He's happier after two weeks than he was after three days. That said, he is used to his shoes fitting without trouble and pain on the first wearing. They have an excellent tread.

Knew as soon as I tried these on it was way too tight across the top. I have a high arch but not that high. I kept saying "I can make these work" but there isnt any room for high arched folks and never was able to hike in these shoes as the brand name deserves. The shoes have been replaced by Merrels and sit in my closet. Don't make the same mistake I made...if you have high arches these shoes are not likely for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GreyOwl n should have WIDE lightweight hiking shoes also!
Nice hiking shoes. I have no idea if I am going to be able to wear the medium width on my Florida Keys trip. They feel very tight in especially one shoe in the arch area. Why doesn't this huge company have a hiking shoe for those with low flexible arches. The US Military officially ruled that pres planes (low arches) were NOT any worse than all other foot arch styles and in fact had fewer common foot problems. A lot of people have this. My family used to have the larger shoe and boot factory in the WORLD. TODAY MOST FOOTWEAR IS MADE OVERSEAS. These shoes were made in Vietnam. I served there. The shoes are well made. But the sizing and widths available are not adequate for all buyers.
