Replaced an older LLB jacket with this one in Mariner Blue for an upcoming trip to Europe. Fits well and will also have room for a sweater underneath when it gets chilly/windy.
I like the tabs that can adjusted for a trimmer fit and the zipper seems to function well. I'm 5"6 and the length is perfect since it covers the backside and no chills will be felt on your back.

Wonderful fall color, so happy I waited buying this jacket until a warm, soft burnt orange was available. I prefer the longer sleeves. Great fit.
One change I would make, a third set of snaps to cinch in the waist more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by manxcatmom1964 very warm, windproof, and smart-looking
I bought this jacket a couple of winters ago, after looking at it for a while. I like the equestrian look--it's very smart, sort of British. I thought this would be a good fall jacket, but I ended up wearing it all winter, through the bitterest cold. It's roomy enough for a heavy sweater underneath, and quite windproof. My only quibble is that, for me, the sleeves are a bit long, so I have to turn up the cuffs. Otherwise, very happy with my purchase. I hope it lasts for several more cold seasons!

Rated 4 out of 5 by beanviewer nice coat if you like the back
i ordered this coat without noticing the way the back was styled. i ordered the black which looked great, no complaints, except i didnt care for the "kick pleat" across my back side?! the sleeves were longer than usual for 5'7". if i liked it better i would be tempted to order the petite.

I have been buying from LL Bean for years, so I was quite disappointed when the zipper on the jacket broke - which I had purchased in late February 2016. No only that, the zipper is very poor quality and didn't easily slide up and down in the first place. The sleeves are almost too long, and the shoulders aren't wide enough so that when I drive, the material feels tight across my back and also bunches up at the shoulders. I am so, so disappointed in this purchase, and hope that LL Bean will return to using quality zippers the way they used to! (I also think some size-tweaking should be considered!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by LEHShopper Perfect for chilly weather - not for snow weather
I love this jacket. I live in the Washington DC area and this jacket is perfect weight for all but the coldest days. It's too light for our latest snow storm but that's ok and I agree with the other reviewers it's not for below freezing weather. I wanted something I could grab and go for temps between 60-35 degrees and this is perfect. The first one I bought I tried on in a store -- I'm 5'5" and a size 12 but am smaller in shoulders/torso. The Medium fit me fine BUT it didn't leave a lot of room for layering which I wanted and the sleeves were a little long. So I got a petite large which enabled me enough room for layering and the sleeve length was perfect. I recently lost my original black jacket for which I'm very sad about but just ordered a replacement in blue. I've traveled with this jacket and it's perfect because it's so light weight -- good for Europe if you aren't there in the middle of the winter. I would highly recommend this jacket for anyone who wants spring/fall weight jacket or who doesn't live in a terribly cold place. I've worn it through the milder winter days as well.

I'm in my late 20s and currently establishing "legacy pieces" in my wardrobe that will last well into my 30s. This jacket is one of those pieces.
I've had this jacket for about three months and wear it almost every day. I'm 5'4" and around 120 lbs, so I chose the S in Dark Ivy. I'm pear-shaped with a small upper body, so I didn't experience any problems other reviewers had like pulling in the shoulders or snug sleeves. In fact, I regularly wear bulky sweaters underneath and feel extremely comfortable. (I usually wear a 4 in shirts, but I went with the S in this jacket instead of the XS specifically for layering.)
The waist options are crucial, too. Soon after receiving the coat, I fitted the waist with the snap options. This makes the coat not only more flattering, but it makes it a lot more sleek and stylish.
I live in a river valley in the Appalachians where it's constantly windy, and this jacket is perfect for where I live. Although I can't give an opinion on how the jacket would fare in colder climates, it's perfect if you're looking for some wind relief. It's windproof and you can roll down the edge of the sleeves over your hands or gloves for some extra wind resistance. It's surprisingly warm for being so thin -- a fact I loved when I had to walk through the snow during the blizzard this year.
If you're having doubts about the color, you can easily treat the Dark Ivy like a neutral. It looks great with white, cream, brown, and black. I even wear it with bright coral and it still looks classy. This versatility, combined with that impeccable LL Bean quality, is why I'm happy to have this piece in my closet for years to come.

I am very happy with this jacket on the whole. I got it in khaki, on a markdown, in size XS Misses' Regular (5'7", 130-135lbs, early 30s, hourglass shape). I thought it looked beautiful as I opened up the package.
It is well made, has lovely corduroy zipper flap and collar trim and a nice plaid lining. Good quality snap buttons, versatile colour, very lightweight, looks stylish. The waistband has two different button settings so you can create a bit more of a waist which I found was necessary in my case and improved the look a lot. If I didn't have that other button setting, I think I might have found the look a little boxy.
One issue is that the sleeves are definitely long, but as others mentioned you can roll up the sleeves and show the plaid lining and it looks nice like that. The other thing is that it could be just me, since this is a common issue for me, but there is a bit of that pull feeling in the armpits and shoulder blades as I raise my arms or bring them across my chest. If this is significant in a coat, this is usually a total deal breaker for me, but although I can still notice it with this one a bit, it is much better than I have experienced with certain coats and since I always struggle with this, it wasn't enough of a bother this time to return it. It wouldn't help to go up a size as there was a lot of room in the body. If that issue were totally absent and if the body was a little trimmer/sleeves a touch shorter, I would have given it 5 stars.
In terms of warmth, this is very lightweight and likely best for fall and spring if you live in a cold climate, like I do.

Nice coat except the skinny arms and maybe the narrow upper back, making the arms too tight. I'm a 12, I got the large. To be fair my upper arms are large. I got my daughter the small, she's a size 2, and she is having the same issue with arm and shoulder room. Mine is going back,

Rated 5 out of 5 by texashayseed Very flattering fit
It is exactly what I expected, I ordered the khaki and it is a warm goldtone with olive green trim. It is plenty warm and should wear quite well. The back snap options make this very flattering and it is comfortable to wear because it is not bulky or thick. I love it - just really wanted the Evergreen color which I understand is discontinued. I would love this in Cranberry or Navy also.
