I don't usually spend this much on clothing of any kind, but this jacket is worth every penny. Purchased it for a bicycle ride around Northern Ireland. I knew it would be cool weather AND I needed something compact to fit on the bike. This jacket was perfect. It stored in my pannier and I looked stylish (and warm!) when off the bike. One of my smartest purchases ever!

I bought this for a spring trip to central Minnesota and Chicago. I didn't need it in Chicago because we had beautiful weather but it came in very handy in Minnesota when it got stormy and the temps dropped in the evenings. Packed easy and looks great!

I bought this last October and it goes everywhere with me. January in Florida, February and March in southern Switzerland and Italy, May in Texas and I'm ready to pack it again for a June trip to France. All winter long it was my goto jacket for shopping, errands, and picking up the mail. It takes up a tiny space in my luggage. I wear it as the top layer or under layer. It is trim and smart enough for all but the most formal venues. I don't write many reviews, but this is one of the best items I have ever purchased. If it is possible to love an inanimate object then I love this jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by loispoodle2 It is a great, beautiful jacket but...
Temperatures to -15? really?? I think I could use it to maybe +15. It does fit nicely under a rain jacket or a warm layer will fit under but I sure wouldn't plan for a lot of warmth from it. In other words, it is not replacing my down jacket.
I love the color, it is well made and fits perfectly. It will be great to travel with as its warm for it's size. The ONLY thing wrong with the jacket is the suggestion that it will be warm enough for -15!

Nice jacket, beautiful color but runs too large. I bought an X-Small Petite. It was too boxy and the sleeves were long so I had to return it. I was looking for a more fitted but warm jacket to wear in between seasons and to travel with. This jacket would be better for layering because of its roominess. LLBean is always gracious when you return an item which keeps me coming back.

I got this jacket last fall in black for an upcoming trip to Europe. It's the best jacket I have ever worn. It's lightweight, warm and windproof and I layered a shirt and sweater underneath and topped it with a scarf. Not bulky at all. I was never cold. I keep gloves in the pockets at all times and they have come in handy many times. I like that the pockets zip so I don't have to worry about anything falling out. It is my main jacket and I wear it all the time at home altho not in Chicago winters. The only thing is I have not figured out how to pack it up into itself. Maybe a video would help or maybe it's just me. Love wearing this every time.

I just received this jacket today. Shipping was prompt. But the jacket itself is PERFECT! I read a lot of product reviews and ordered accordingly. Thanks to all who've come before me! I am 5'2 1/2", around 123lbs and busty (36D) and a little thick waisted. I usually wear a M in most brands for a shirt, sometimes a L if it's snug. But.. I ordered a Petite S in this jacket and it fits like a dream. The sleeves cover a bit of my hands, but not too much. It zips without pulling in all areas. The shoulders sit, the hemline is where it should be. It is "princess seamed" so it gives a nice shape, not boxy. Perfect. And you can zip it into the left-hand pocket for travel = no bag to lose! And it weighs close to nothing. I don't live in the North, so I cannot attest to the warmth, I will let others tell you their temperature ratings. I bought it for a cold climate trip. I would order 47 of these if I needed any extra, but living in FL, one black jacket will do.

I love this jacket. I live in San Francisco bay area & the weight is perfect. I bought the black one & liked it so much that I bought the blue pine and the bright lapis one. The colors are as represented, bright and clean looking. I'm 5'3" & the small size fits perfectly.I love that the sleeves are long enough to come down over my hands, but guess that everyone might not.

This is the second jacket I ordered. I also have the one with the hood. Loved that one so much I decided to get one without the hood. They're my go to jacket's when I need a light one. I got the small reg, even though I'm petite. I find in that size I can always put a sweater or fleece under it. The jackets are roomy but not over large, plus they repel the water should you get caught in the rain........
They wash and dry with not problem.......
Great jacket worth the price.......

This jacket is lightweight but surprisingly warm. It's not a jacket to wear in the dead of winter, but it is a nice fall and spring coat when it's a bit chilly. I love the inner zipper pocket, but wish it also had the inner side mesh pocket that some other L.L. Bean coats have. I got used to being able to put my cell phone in the this pocket in my winter coat and I miss it. A great jacket to pack on vacation trips because it rolls up very small.
