Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanOnMe Black granny boots
I am a constant 7 in foot wear, however ordered 61/2 as the 7's were out. Delighted to find them a perfect fit. There is still extra room in the toe box. They look somewhat between granny and military. I love the heel, like the softer leather. On a short walk to the car in a farm setting in snowy condition didn't get my feet wet or cold, so hopeful about their "performance", but obviously they'll do best in dry weather. I expected them to hit a bit higher on the calf, but found them to be 1.5-2" shorter than I imagined. All in all, I am pleased and have to say that it is a lovely pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CapitalCanuck Exactly what I was looking for!
This was my first time ordering boots from LL Bean. I was told that the boots typically run long, so instead of my usual size 10, I ordered a 9 1/2. With thick socks they might have worked, but I exchanged them for the 9. I'm in love. They do run quite narrow, but they work perfectly for me. After a couple of days of breaking them in, they are my go-to walking boots! Thanks LL Bean!
Can't wait to order the next pair on my wish list.

SHABBY QUALITY ~ BRING BACK THE OLDER STYLE BOOTS!
I've been buying lace up all leather boots from LLB for many years. These are not up to standard. Inferior quality leather, and oddly sized.
I wear 9 1/2 B with a narrow foot. These boots hurts my feet! Never had that problem before.
The price gas remained high, but quality has diminished. The laces are flimsy, and they are very poor quality, compared to the boots LLB has offered in the past.
I bought 2 pr. Sadly, must return.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Patty100 Too long and too narrow
My shoes size is a size 10 medium. Based upon the previous reviews, I ordered two pairs to see which ones fit best, a 9 medium and a 9 1/2 medium. The 9 1/2 medium was too long and somewhat narrow. The 9 medium was the right length but very narrow. I think my 10 medium feet would fit into a 9 wide in these boots, but they are not offered in wide widths. I would order it again if I could get a wide width. I gave it two stars because the fit was all wrong, but the leather materials were nice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dexter Not up to your standards-epic fail-so disappointed
I opened the box and was stunned by how bad the leather on this boot looked and felt. The shaft "leather" (if you could call it that) was like paper. I could move the thin top-coat layer of leather, from ankle to top, around with my thumb while the lining remained steady. I did not try them on or unlace them. Why bother? Definitely not worth the $169 price point. I had been looking forward to getting a stylish, good & solid pair of leather L.L.Bean boots. So disappointed.
Boots were immediately on their way back to L.L.Bean.

These boot were a full two inches too long and I ordered my normal size. They also had an awful chemical smell and looked very inexpensive. I returned them and will not be reordering a different size because the quality was not up to LLBean standards or my standards. The positive reviews amazed me. They almost make me wonder if they got different boots.

Classic six eye lace-ups, like lightweight Doc Martens. Dressy enough to wear with winter tights and casual skirts as well as pants. Not insulated so should not be worn for extended periods outdoors but perfect for moving from house to car/bus to office, etc, rounded toe box means toes can be wiggled to keep from freezing in sub-zero temps.. Nice quality leather.
I'm a size 10.5/42 European so I ordered both the 10 and the 11, intending to keep the better fit. These fit long - the 10 gives me a full centimeter room to the end of the boot - I won't need to even open the box on the 11.

Rated 5 out of 5 by squarefootgardner Very pleasantly surprised
I bought these boots with a little trepidation, worried they would be too clunky and too hard to lace. They are neither, and I love them. The leather is very supple - like a good shoe, not like a work or hiking boot. There are a lot subtle details that make this boot feel and look light and slim, not clunky. They were easy to lace - again, like a shoe, not like a work boot. I put them on and they felt almost broken in immediately. Nice quality.
They do run BIG. I normally wear a 9, although with leather shoes I sometimes buy an 8 1/2 with the expectation that they will feel tight at first and then stretch. After reading other reviews I ordered an 8 and the boots fit perfectly with lots of toe room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanette Love these boots!
I was looking for the perfect pair of slightly tough but still wearable to work (I'm a librarian) boots, and I admit, LL Bean was low on my list of places to look, but these are totally perfect. I ordered half a size down, and they fit perfectly. They're very nice looking whatever you wear them with, and they have a nice chunky sole that doesn't slip on ice--these are not winter boots, but they're great for late Fall. I was a little worried about the scratches that showed up after the first couple of wears, but after a clean and polish and some mink oil, they look even better than before. They are so great I may even order another pair, I haven't had casual boots I liked this much in a long time!

Rated 1 out of 5 by 1carolin The first review was correct, too long in the toe
There was too much room in the toe area . I had to send them back the same day I received them. Sorry LLBean, not up to your standards. But I love your return policy. Thank you
