Rated 5 out of 5 by ANON18 Great for runs!
This shirt is great! I bought it to be a base layer for cold winter runs and it is just what I wanted. I wore it under a light fleece, and I was perfectly warm on my 3 mile run in 30 degrees with lots of wind ("feels like 19 degrees"). I think that I could wear it alone in warmer weather and it is great for layering in colder weather. I am 5'6'' and 135 lbs and bought a misses small. It is not as tight as I anticipated it being, but I actually like that it is looser. The fabric is soft and comfortable and all together this is a perfect midweight base layer!

The fabric is great. The construction is great. Both the top and the bottoms will keep you nice and warm, sort of. I am 5'9". I ordered the proper size. Everything fits just fine around but everything is too short. The waist pulls down when I bend over to lift a shovel full of snow. Unless I wear extra long socks, there is a band of exposed flesh between the tops of my socks and the bottoms of my legs. The sleeves of the top are "extra long" with a hole for your thumb. Where it not for this feature, the sleeves would be WAY too short. Because of the extra sleeve length, the sleeves are OK but I will never be able to get my thumb into that hole that sits at the middle of my wrist.
If you are average or short, this base layer will be wonderful for you. If you are tall, look elsewhere. It is frustrating that the men's version of this product is available in "tall". Do women really only come in average and short heights?

This is a great fitting top - I find the sleeve length to be just fine, and the seaming doesn't bother me like it has some other reviewers. I do agree that it does seem to snag easily, and for me, while the rest of the shirt fits comfortably, the neck is a bit snug. Would still recommend, however! It is warm, and makes for a great base layer during windy and rainy fall soccer.

The substance, feel, and fit are just right. A touch loose for the size. The color (sort of Easter blue) is bright, but the wearer is a woman.

Rated 2 out of 5 by mollyc x-small and still way too big
LL Bean products run SOOO big. I'm not an especially small person. I'm 5'2". Yet, an extra small was way too big for me. Felt like I was wearing a dress and the proportions were all wrong. I had to return it. It's been a challenge for me to find LL Bean things to buy to use the gift card I have because I returned a sweater someone had gotten me that was also way too big. Disappointing. Guess I'll get $100 worth of socks!

This thermal provides a good layer. Fits well, length is just below waist and back a bit longer, sleeves are a great length and have thumb holes to prevent from riding up.
Washed well, Hung to dry.
The only con to this shirt is the stitching. The stitching is not flat and you can feel it with every move. I like the one I have but would be hesitant to buy another for this reason.

Rated 4 out of 5 by gazingball good quality but a little big
The quality of this shirt and the pants is very good and provides the warmth that they are supposed to. My issue is that I need a size 14 and the 14-16 (Large) is a bit big for me, where the 10-12 is not big enough. I will try these and hope that more time in the dryer after the next wash will shrink them.

If you want to keep warm, and you don't want to look like a stuffed bear, purchase both the top and bottom of these marvelous "long johns". They are warm and light-weight and they fit easily. They can be worn in a building without huge heat build-up, yet outside they keep you warm as you shovel the sidewalk, walk to a friend's home or to the store (or ski-which I haven't done this year). I bought 2 pairs, and encourage anyone else to do the same. They look good when you have to "de-layer".

This has been a bad, ultra cold Missouri winter, and I have a dog who came from a breeder in South Dakota, who loves the cold (a golden cocker hunting mix). We have walked in woods and fields all winter in temps down to 12 with -20 wind chills, and I've about frozen. Just got both the mid weight and lightweight powerdry stretch sets. Topped with sweatshirt, jeans, and a rugged ridge parka and was warm in both fields and woods with a heavy wind. Only reason I didn't rate higher was haven't been washed and had to return for a size smaller than I would wear if purchased at a chain store.

Have been downhill skiing with temperatures hovering at 0 degrees F in the morning and I wear this, a cotton turtleneck, and my snowsuit and am warm. I'm 5'4" and 113, so don't have much bulk. I love it!
