This cap is very nice. It's warm and weatherproof. If you like an air space above your cap, you will not like this one. It is very close fitting and looks like a beanie with a visor. It has a very old and traditional look. The adjustment band is hard to set because the locking teeth dig into the fabric. You need to cover them to make it slide. Once you do that, it can be made quite large and will fit many sizes. My husband is 78 and he loves this cap.

Looks dorky, I think it is because the head covering (the cap part) does not come down the head far enough. The beak looks fine. It is not easy to adjust the size strap.

No, I didn't want a hardware store/race track ball cap with a stiff, high front. But this was a shallow, close fitting sort of skull cap with a brim, of a tweed softer than in a blazer; close fitting and, well, skimpy. I felt like (or looked like!), whilst wearing this cap, an over-age cast member for Oliver, or The Wall.

Rated 2 out of 5 by EllenWatermelon Way too small to recommend for adults.
After lots of discussion with the online staff about sizing, decided to order it and see for ourselves if it would be suitable for my son who wears a 7 1/2" hat. It turns out this hat, albeit a fabulous idea and nicely made (the tweed fabric is on the back strap too), is way too small and I do not think will fit comfortably anyone with much larger than a small head. It sits at least an inch to an inch and half higher than the top of my ear so even I felt it would fall off easily. This is not a traditional fitted baseball hat that will stay on your head nor is it even large enough to warrant a comfortable fit with the adjustable strap. Sorry, LL Bean, I thought it was such a good idea and looked forward to seeing it but I feel confident that it isn't going to fit many gentlemen comfortably.
Redesign it and I will for sure come back and take another look.

I purchased the green tweed cap for my 20 something son for Christmas. I think he'll really like it. It is a great cold weather alternative for someone his age that does not quite fit the "newsboy" cap personality. The quality is outstanding - fully lined, heavy tweed with a bit of stretch to hold it on his head and looks like no itch will touch his skin! As others mentioned it does look to run small which is good for us since he is an average size guy. Also the brim was smaller than I envisioned but I realize that this will most likely look better on a young man as apposed to a boy or teen. Can't wait to see it on him.

Got it for my dad in the dark greyish. It's really great quality. I like the fabric, and he likes the cap styling bc he refuses to wear beanies. Keeps his head warm.

The cap was fine except that it didn't fit me. The size was "one size fits all." It was big enough around the headband but perched on top of my head like a "beanie." It would certainly blow off on a windy day. I take a large or extra large cap. Perhaps it would fit O.K. for a person with a smaller head.

this is a new llbean product and i only had it for about 2 weeks. i own the llbean harris tweed touring cap and this is the same product in a baseball style cap. it is well made, warm and waterproof. i have worn it only once so far and i like very much. it is unique, having a harris tweed in form of a baseball cap. i think i like it better than the traditional touring cap. it feels better on the head and i think i look better in the baseball style cap.
