I love the styling of this jacket. The magnetic pocket-flap closures, the covered zipper with snaps, the two vertical snaps at the wrists, and the texture of the outer fabric make it not your typical ski jacket. I ordered my usual size (small), and it fits as expected, with room-enough for another light layer underneath. At 5'2" and 112 lbs., I probably would have ordered a PETITE small had it been available, but I am still happy with the fit of the REGULAR small. If you want this jacket to fit snugly, as it does on the blond model in the catalog/online, then you might choose to order one size down. Otherwise, I'd recommend ordering your usual size. The sleeves are a bit long for a shorter woman but not a problem. (When I'm driving with my arms outstretched, I actually prefer a slightly longer sleeve.) The two vertical snaps at the cuff allow the wearer to turn up the cuffs, if so desired. Oh, yes, I must not forget to mention the orange lining that comes with the gray jacket. Fabulous and fun!

I love the over all points of this Traverse Shirt Jacket. Years ago there was a down shirt and I never bought one. Now I was excited! The down shirt had returned! I did all the measurements and ordered the medium. It arrived today. The shirt jacket is beautifully made, but it doesn't fit my pear shape. The top, the shoulders, the bust, the arms all fit just right, but the bottom part would not close. If I got the larger size, the shoulders would be droopy. I still applaud the shirt jacket and hope that next year LL Bean will make one similar with a straight line so that more body shapes, including mine, can wear it. A note that might help someone else, I have difficulty with cold even in the evenings inside. I had planned to use the jacket inside in the evenings.
But I am going to send it back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by skyedundee Stylish and practical
Good jacket that combines the practical micropuff jacket with a more fashionable style. It is both very warm and very compact. The shoulders are a tad bulky and the jacket is overall sized very large. I am normally a S/XS in women's stores and the XXS is still a bit big. However, this slight extra room is useful for wearing a thick sweater underneath while keeping the stylish shape of the jacket. The other reason for giving it a 4/5 is that the small feathers of the down tend to escape from the jacket seams and stick to my sweaters underneath. It's not so much as that the jacket will lose it's down quickly, but it is a bit annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoonieCoonie Awesome jacket!!!
Wife was looking for a light weight jacket to wear to work, and out on the town, that looked nice. She saw this jacket on line and really liked it. So, with that in mind, and along with the, L.L. Bean, quality reputation being as it is, I ordered it for her. It got here in a few days, and she LOVEs it! Good looking, warm, light weight, durable and very well made!!! Would recommend this item to everyone!

Rated 4 out of 5 by WiscoLD Nice, but runs big and inside is really orange.
I'm 5'8 about 137 pounds, average chest. I typically wear Small to Medium. This runs a bit big in the torso/width, although sleeve length is good. Bottom line, I'm returning for an XS (and I really wish they carried TALL for women.)
Also - the inside liner is pumpkin orange, not red as shown online.

Love this jacket especially the sleeve length speaking from someone who has always finds sleeves to be too short. You'll want to pay close attention to the size chart for this as I believe 'vanity-sizing' is in play here. I purchased a small and it fits perfectly with even a bit of room for a light sweater underneath... nothing else in my wardrobe is a small. I fall into the medium rage most everywhere else at 5'9", 145#s, 36" bust. Love the ease of the snap pockets on the front but do wish there was an inside zip pocket to tuck a credit card & my phone for quick trips out and about.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AllSeasonHiker Great design, bad fit
I was really excited to get this jacket, but unfortunately, the cut didn't work on me at all. I'm 5'2" and an hourglass shape, and as other reviewers with that shape mentioned, it wasn't flattering at all. The sleeves came down to my fingertips, but the jacket itself was short on my torso, which just exaggerated my shape making it look dumpy. It's such a great looking jacket on it's own, but in person, it seemed kind of flimsy, and the zipper didn't look like very good quality. Too expensive for a jacket that is only spring/fall wear. Colors, and the retro pockets on chest are great though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by kayakmom Great jacket!
I love this jacket. I ordered my regular size and it fits perfectly. I have worn it alone and under another jacket and love the way it keeps in my body heat without feeling bulky. I often have problems with sleeves being too short but the sleeve length is perfect. I would recommend this jacket.

I love this jacket and expect to wear it a lot this fall/winter. I love the gray color and the orange lining is fun too. The styling of the jacket is very cute and feminine (two words I don't often use to describe a down jacket). To me the jacket seemed to run a bit big, which I suppose may be why it is also offered in XXS. I'm 5'5" and 115 lbs. or so and am pleased with the slightly roomy fit I got with the XS.

Rated 2 out of 5 by travelerdc Wanted to love but disappointed...
I really wanted this jacket and, in theory, it is a great product. In actuality, it's disappointed big time. The down is coming out the more I wear it and the zipper has broken on me twice already. It's really cheap seemingly. I'm 5'5 and about 150 which is my highest. I carry it in my legs and hips so I got the large but it's too big in some places and as other reviews have said too tight across the back between my shoulder blades. The medium fit better in a way but not when it was zippered up. I wanted to love this but the quality doesn't justify the price. I'm surprised at ll bean. It's going back and they need to make some manufacturing/sizing tweaks.
