My husband and I went to the Kenai Peninsula in late May/early June of 2015. We stayed in Seward, where the climate is cool, damp and rainy for the most part. These were an excellent choice for the hiking in snow! on the Harding icefield, Exit Glacier, Trail to Lost Lake and to the Matanuska Glacier and River. We also visited Eagle River Nature Center for hiking, and they held up well in the mud on some of the trails. They were warm and comfy, I wore them with wool hiking socks and my feet stayed dry. They were easy to put on and go- I didn't even have to "break them in" much. Would highly recommend them! Especially if you want a little higher hiking shoe for ankle support. No binding, no heel blisters, really easy to wear and comfortable. Loved these...first REAL pair of hiking shoes I ever bought, look forward to many more adventures in them!!

Ordered a 1/2 size up and the length and width were fine for me. I wear them for ankle stability and comfort. I would order another pair if they came in darker color.

I wear a size 7 shoe and a 7 1/2 sneaker. My low Merrill hiking shoes are size 8. These waterproof hikers are size 8 1/2...they fit fine. The toe box on this shoe is a little smaller than on the other Merrill's. They are very comfortable and I can wear all day without any trouble. I have a custom insert and it fits well inside the shoe. I have used them in very cold temps. and they keep my feet warm. I have not worn them in extreme water conditions but for just snow and slush they have been fine. I am very happy I got this shoe. At first I was just going to send the size 8 back and forget about it as I though I would trip over a size 8 1/2...they are fine and not very long.

I tried these boots twice, thinking my first pair was defective. Unfortunately, the second pair leaves me with wet feet also. They are very comfortable, but they do not work for me because I need my feet to stay dry.

I like this hiking boot. It would be comfortable if it were not for being at least a half size too small. I should have listened to the other reviews about the size running small. I wear a 6.5 in other Merrells so why does Merrell use a last for this boot that does not standardize with its other products?
The boot is comfortable and I believe I could work in it all day were it not for my toes rubbing the front of the shoe. I wasted $100.
I recommend this boot, just make sure it fits correctly before wearing it for extended period.

I first ordered my normal size - 7 M- and they felt a tad short. Reordered a 7-1/2 and they are perfect. These boots were comfortable the minute I put them on. Wore them straight on to a short hike (couple miles) then the rest of the day doing errands. No hint of a rub anywhere. Also, did have to go through some water on the hike and no hint of leakage at all. I absolutely love these boots. Have another pair of regular cut Merrell boots that I've had for years and they are still waterproof and showing little to no signs of wear. I hope these hold up as well. Highly recommend but suggest ordering a half size larger. .

I wore them about four times, and my feet where soaked. However, they are super comfy! But I am sending them back, because I need water proof hiking boots.
