I decided to write a review on these, since there aren't very many reviews and these are on sale now for a good price. I only received these yesterday, but wore them all day today with my medium weight Cresta hiking socks. I ordered them in my true size and they are more than large enough. Beans has a recommendation that you order a half size up, but I would try my regular size first. Shoes are lightweight, slightly narrow, good grip on snow and very comfortable. Also, made in America.

Another reviewer made a statement about these shoes not being made in the USA. Mine specifically say that they are made in the USA of imported materials.
I have a wide foot and find that New Balance tends to run wider than other athletic footwear, so that's why I order NB. I think these are slightly narrower than NB shoes I have purchased in the past, but they do fit me. I am on my feet all day and have been wearing them at my job. I've had a few complements on them. I find them very comfortable.
They are not warm. They are very breathable. Another reviewer commented that she wears hers with wool socks, I would have to go up a size to wear bulky socks with these. I might order another pair in a size larger for winter jogging with bulky socks.

I choose these because I needed a shoe for walking in all types of weather. I had fallen too many times. The grip is the thing that caught my attention. They are not a warm shoe but with wool socks they are perfect. I happen to do most of my walking (2 miles) each morning at 5 o:clock and the footing can be slippery.I'm very pleased.

I typically wear Brooks Adrenaline running sneakers but purchased the NB shoe after doing research on its similarities to the fit of my current shoe. I will definitely not buy online again after this experience because if I had tried these shoes on in a store I would have realized immediately that in all ways this NB shoe is subpar:
-LL Bean recommends to buy this shoe one size larger, DO NOT. I even ignored the recommendation and purchased my normal shoe size and it was still too big.
-NB shoes have been great for me in the past as I have wide feet, however this style was too wide even for me, it made the fact that the shoes run longer than normal size even worse
-Quality of shoe material is horrible, the sole of the shoe was so stiff that it did not perform well even on a well-groomed trail pathway. If you step on even the smallest of bump there is no give and you slip. Not exactly what you want with a shoe labeled as a "trail" shoe.
-The material used for the rest of the shoe is plastic-y and is also stiff. Combine that with the too large length and width, every step you take you are getting jabbed by stiff material.
-Unrelated to performance, but I also have to mention that the colors of this shoe are hideous. I thought they would not be so bad, I was wrong. I don't go so much for how a shoe looks but when combined with the poor performance I was embarrassed to be seen in them.
This shoe might be worth buying if you can figure out which size will actually fit you and it was a $25 purchase but certainly not worth the $80 price tag I got them for.
