Rated 5 out of 5 by mmgt The Perfect Flannel Shirt
This is the flannel shirt I've been looking for for decades. I'm 6'2"
with a slender build and this shirt fit me like a glove; The length and fit are perfect(Medium/T).
The flannel is soft, not too heavy. The collar is not button down. Why put a button down collar on a flannel shirt? The pockets are perfect - just the right size, nice flaps and no weird angles.
In short the perfect flannel shirt. I only hope that LL Bean will continue to offer this for many more years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Skabo My New Favorite Shirt
I have been searching for the one perfect flannel shirt for a couple years and now I have found it. It is soft and comfortable and fits very nicely. Some have mentioned issues with fit, so I will give my details to help others. I bought the large, regular, slightly fitted. I am 6' tall, 185 pounds, average build, and am athletic, but do not have six-pack abs. My dress shirt size is typically 16.5, 34/35. It is not tight, nor is it billowy and the sleeves are perfect. Also, the length is great for being un-tucked or would be fine tucked in as well. Awesome shirt!

Rated 3 out of 5 by MikeinCNY Fitted for fluffy
I ordered the Large, and they are "slightly fitted", but only if you have a beer belly. The chest and shoulder area fit well but the waist was really big in comparison. There needs to be about 5" of fabric removed from the waist in my opinion.
I then ordered the Medium Tall and it fit like a champ in the waist area. However, the chest buttons were about to pop off and the shirt wouldn't have fit after washing.
I really wanted these to fit. The quality looks to be on point, they're soft and comfy, they have Bean's awesome quality promise, but the fit is made for a middle-aged paunch and not anywhere near fitted.
For reference I'm 6' 3", 205 lbs, 42L jacket and a 33" waist in jeans.

Got the shirt slightly fitted and it is amazing. Perfect fit.
My wife even says that it makes me look slimmer.... how do you argue with that!
These are the only flannel shirts that Bean sells that do not have a button down collar. Wish it came in more colours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by smokymountainhiker7 good, casual flannel
I bought this in a size small for my husband, who has a slimmer athletic build. L.L. Bean tops are usually a little loose on him, but not sloppily so. He likes having a little extra room to move around. The quality is wonderful and he wore it nearly every day this past fall and winter. I'm planning to buy him one or two more this year so he can have a few to rotate. The fabric feels slightly different from the day he first got it, but no less durable or presentable. Just more worn in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pinetar Nice quality, weird fit
I just received this shirt, and I'm not quite sure if I'll keep it. The quality of this shirt is fantastic--the flannel is thick, soft, and warm. The fit, however, is not what I hoped for or expected. I bought another flannel shirt (one of the scotch plaids) in the same size and I would say the same thing about it: great shirt, weird fit.
For work, I wear dress shirts and suits everyday. I wear a 16" neck, 35" sleeve, and 40" chest. Basically, I'm 6'2" and have a somewhat narrow build.
I bought medium tall shirts. Large shirts usually are billowy on me with my narrower shoulders and chest. I bought tall, because a medium shirt with a 33" sleeve looks awkwardly short on my arms, meaning that I always have to roll up the sleeves.
The result with this medium tall shirt: sleeves that are a perfect length, good fit on the shoulders, a relaxed chest (emphasis on the "slightly" in "slightly fitted"), and shirt tails that go two or three inches below the crotch of my pants.
There's no way I can wear this shirt untucked--it's just way too long. I would have to be 6'6" for the length to look normal, but then, how many 6'6" guys do you see that wear a 35" sleeve and 40" chest? I really don't have a terribly uncommon build. It makes me wonder whether the models in the photos have their sleeves rolled up because otherwise they would obviously be too short, since the untucked length of the tails looks normal on them. I had hoped to have something more versatile that could be worn tucked, untucked, over another shirt or alone, etc. This doesn't fit the bill.
In summary--if you can find your size in this shirt or plan on wearing it tucked in, it's a great shirt. If I end up keeping it it's because the quality is great, it's a classy shirt, and it seems like it would last forever. I just really wish it fit better untucked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NY108 Love this shirt!
This shirt is exactly what I would expect from L.L. Bean - perfect fit and superior quality. I am a size "large tall" which is not always easy to find, and I'm so glad that many of your products like this shirt are available in my size. Thank you for your outstanding product selection, top quality merchandise, and always accommodating customer service!

Rated 4 out of 5 by RetiredShipper Freeport shirt for winter
This garment is soft and comfortable. The size may be a little large, but not overly so. I have several LL Bean flannel shirts and I would recommend them for your winter wardrobe. This was a Christmas Gift, I love LL bean merchandise !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ConstantLLBeanShopper Great Newer Colors on Classic Flannel Shirt
I'm a big fan of L.L. Bean's flannel shirts, but needed more colors from the classic ones offered in Scotch Plaid. I loved the color combinations in the Freeport Flannel, and bought one of each of them. Very comfortable and sizing was just right.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Setterman1313 decent shirt, crazy sizing
Sizing is off on this shirt. I'm 6', 225lbs, 47" chest, and wear a 17.5x36 dress shirt. Ordered a Regular XL. Sleeve length is borderline. If the shirt would shrink, the sleeves would be too short. Body length on the other hand is the exact opposite, long enough to be considered "Tall". The chest is wildly over sized for it's tagged size. My XL measured 56", what I'd expect an XXL or even XXXL to measure. Sent the shirt back to exchange for a Tall Large, which will be a half inch longer in the sleeve, and 52" in the chest (about what you'd expect a bigger XL to be). Material is soft, but not particularly heavy. Will need a layer on underneath in the dead of winter. Decent shirt, though a touch over priced.
