Rated 4 out of 5áby TheSlash Excellent product. Highly recommended
This is my fourth pair of these. Other reviewers companied about quality. I can tell you that original explorers were softer, lighter and overall more comfortable. There were some minor stitching issues, but overall quality went down a bit. These feel heavier and sturdier and less comfortable. However to put this in perspective, I still believe that it's the best sandal for the money on the market today. Basically, great product that was even better before.

These sandals are just as advertised. My shoe size is 8 1/2 EEEE. I ordered the size 10 and the width is perfect. I use compression stockings and the airiness of these sandals make my feet feel much cooler. An excellent product!

Cushioning and traction are superb. Pebbles & debris don't get underfoot which enables them to be used w/o socks on most trails, forests & streets.

Rated 1 out of 5áby GypsyLife Painful To Wear
Bought a pair for myself and my wife because of their name and because they were attractive. Within the first half hour of wear, both of our ankles were worn to almost bleeding from the curved in Velcro strap.. Very poor design.

Rated 5 out of 5áby carolannie comfortable, sturdy, good value
My husband really likes these, good weight not too heavy for summer but sturdy enough to offer good support for your feet. There is just a little bit of "give" over the instep they are still comfortable if your feet swell in the warm weather. And they offer enough structure over the toes for some protection. He wants a couple more pairs.

Rated 5 out of 5áby MainerByChoice74 Even Better Than Keens!
I was a long time Keen wearer and Keen Newports are great. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of the explorers. The key differences to me are the toes which still protect without the big rubber cap toes. The adjustable and well padded ankle strap is great because I don't have to pull the bungee strap too tight to where it pinches. I don't have to undo the ankle strap to pull these on and off. If they're hard to pull off that way then the ankle strap is too tight, There's no breaking in,their not overly athletic looking like others yet perform just as ruggedly. The leather is soft. The equivalent would be the Keen leather Newport for $110. These are a steal at the reg price of $79.99, so I can't see them going for $59.99 forever. Get them!

Rated 5 out of 5áby LAXMom4 Favorite summer shoe!
My Son LOVES these and would wear them all yr round if possible!. (wears them May to Oct). He LOVES the style, says they are ultra comfortable and supportive. and Says the foot pad area is very cushiony and supportive. He's had the model of these for yrs, and at first didn't like that this last model edition had the adjustable back strap, but he got used to it after awhile. I am sooo hoping these are NOT being discontinued, as they are not offered under the usual "water shoe sandal" section. These are so much better supportive and comfortable than other models, like keen or teva. PLEASE continue to make these!! Just bought him 2 more pairs......just incase they are going away!!!

Rated 5 out of 5áby Mom2ua Getting my second pair NOW!
These are the most comfortable Sandals my husband has ever owned. I got him a pair last year and I am ordering a second pair for this summer. The old ones are still kicking but I am not passing up this awesome sale. He loved the color and the fit. He is so excited to get them! Happy Birthday to him!

Rated 2 out of 5áby oldmarine LLB takes step backward in sandals??
I bought my first pair of LLB's Explorer sandals several years, loved them from day one. Easy to slip on and off, still wear them to walk our Black Lab 1 - 2 miles every day. They're just what we'd expect in LLB merchandise. (I don't care for the rubber platform, so put in a high-quality spongy liner, works perfectly!)
Soles were starting to wear, so bought second pair in 2012, was surprised that the ankle strap is not only adjustable, but that the Velcro adjustment is so thick it rubs my Achilles tendon. Set them aside and forgot about them (Still have original box, though, will return to LLB!)
Optimistically tried again, bought two pairs when recently on sale. They're worse than the second pair, seem heavier and less flexible.
If they'd go back to the originals with the one-piece backstrap, I'd buy 5 pairs... (I'm a healthy 80, they'd more than last the rest of my life, and comfortably!)

Rated 5 out of 5áby ColoradoBeanFan Can Men's Sandals Fit a Woman? Yes!
I love Explorer Sandals -- have been buying them since 2009. I take an 8.5, but have wished Bean would make them in a Wide width for women.
Recently, these men's Explorers were on Daily Markdown - in a Wide width! So I checked and found out I could order a men's 7 for my 8.5 size foot. The sandals came today -- and they fit perfectly. There's extra room in the toe area, and the wide width fits even better than my other sandals in the 8.5 Medium size since they won't pinch my right-foot little toe, which I rammed into a fixed object 2 years ago. This is good news for women like me who find things in the men's departments that you wish Bean offered for women. I do the same thing with shirts. Right now I take a Large in women's shirts, but if I see a men's shirt I like, I just go to a Medium - perfect.
I do not buy men's pants, like jeans, however, because I've done it before only to find there's too much material in the waist which bunches up in the lower part of your back. But for most other items of apparel, you can adjust men's sizes to your own and get exactly what you want.
