Rated 5 out of 5 by AlamedaChris Warm as toast and mighty comfortable
I purchased this shirt in Navy and Charcoal colors and was impressed. Within two weeks, and based on my experience and satisfaction, I ordered it in the remaining two colors. Yes, it's that good. The shirt is fine all by itself, but I particularly enjoy wearing it under Bean's fleece-lined flannel shirts. Layers easily and envelops me in a cocoon of warmth and comfort - something my tired old bones appreciate during our cool, wet winters. Reminds me somewhat of the thermal shirts I wore in high school, but much more refined. I'm particular where and how I spend my money, so consider it a testimony that I bought this shirt in all four available colors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JeffJeffrey Great but . . .
Soft, warm, but the sleeves have shrunk. The sleeve length was perfect when new but after just a few washes, they have inched up. I am thus disappointed in an otherwise great shirt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jUSA Collar stretches too much
I like everything about this shirt except the collar. When you first wear it it's perfect but after a few more wearings the collar stretches out a lot and looks sloppy.
They need to make this shirt with a collar that stretches and holds it shape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ScubaDiver1973 Great fit, color, size...
Fits perfect. Absolutely love the color. Washed and dried several times, holds shape and size perfectly. I have the Heather Stone color in my shopping bag and I'm ready to place my next order!

Rated 5 out of 5 by jerzeydevil Great Shirt - Didn't shrink a bit
I bought one of these shirts despite reading reviews that it shrank after a trip to the washer and dryer. After a wash in cold water with my other laundry and an hour on high in the dryer, this shirt was the same size it was out of the bag. I just purchased another one. I really like this shirt as it layers well under my flannel shirts from LL Bean. Another great product from LL Bean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by FDRoosevelt Not too durable
Didn't last too long for me.
The fabric wore through at the elbow. No tears or rips or anything like that. Just worn out.
Owned the shirt about 2.5 years before it wore out. Only wear it on occasional colder days which is only a handful of times per season here in Seattle. At this price point I would expect to get a bit more use out of the product than I did.
Comfortable and warm.

Rated 2 out of 5 by GetBack2Quality Not the shirt it was in the past...
I've owned one of these shirts for several years and it's a weekend favorite in the fall and winter. Given how much I like it, I decided to order another in a different color. Unfortunately, the fabric on the new shirt is not as substantial as on the older one and the shirt was over-sized. I'm 6'3" so I normally have an issue with sleeves and shirt tails being too short. In the case of this shirt, both where so long that the shirt looked sloppy. To make sure it was not my imagination, I laid the old shirt over the new one and lined up the seams; the new one was in fact about 1 1/2" longer in those dimensions. I'll be returning the shirt as I have no desire to wear it. I appreciate that LL Bean stands behind their products however, I wish they would place a bit more focus on quality control, especially when manufacturing overseas as it's not the first time I've run into a quality issue in recent years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by joel1944 Shrinking Sleeves
I have never had a problem with any other item I have purchased previously from LlBean including other t-shirts, so I did not hesitate to purchase 2 of this item. My husband was thrilled with them as they are so comfortable.
However despite following the washing instructions the sleeves shrank about a couple of inches. No problem with the body of the shirt. He is still able to wear them but not with quite the same comfort level. No further shrinking has occurred since the initial one. Really disappointed, so cannot recommend the item.

The appearance of the Mini Waffle Crewneck in your catalog made me happy!
Several years ago this item appeared as a polo and my wife bought four of them for me. They are one of my FAVORITE SHIRTS.
This crewneck version uses the same material: heavier than a tee-shirt, but lighter than a sweat shirt and a lot classier than either. PLUS, the mini waffle material traps heat like a thermal weave so this item is super for layering. If you don't wear it with an undershirt, the inside is soft and smooth against your skin. They really are like a fine gauge crewneck cotton sweater.
One of the reviews indicated that the item was inferior to earlier mini waffle shirts and was too stretchy and pilled in the wash. NOT TRUE with my shirts. I have worn them all as a layer under sturdy canvas and chamois shirts while working in the yard and doing a shop project requiring lots of stretching and reaching. The MWC's handled the tasks, but didn't show any getting out of shape. They have been washed twice in a tumble washer and dried in a tumble drier with not the slightest sign of pilling or any adverse effects.
I heartily recommend these to anyone who wants a warm, good-looking cotton crew for their fall and winter wardrobe. I''m getting several more for myself and some to give as gifts.
My family has been customers of LLBean for 80 years and we have always found high quality, fair pricing, and sincere customer service. Many, many times we have called on LLBean to deliver more than the advertised service and they have ALWAYS done everything possible to assure our satisfaction.
GOOD JOB!! Here's to 80 more years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Narp Sleeves short after washing
Most L.L. Bean shirts are long enough for me if I buy a tall, if not too long. This one seemed a bit large out of the box, but after two washings in cold water and dryings on low heat, the sleeves have shrunk and are now noticeably short.
