These pants wear like iron, are warm without being bulky and are so good looking. They are designed to be practical (pocket for iphone with zipper!!! YAY) but also don't bulk up and do streamline where needed for just the right fit. My go-to pant for fall-winter-spring. Big complements to the designers of this sub-brand of LLBEAN!!!! FANTASTIC!

This is my third pair of these pants. If they offered them in dark green I'd buy another. Good fit, and very comfortable, soft fabric. They are now my go-to wintertime everyday pants. I like the layout of pockets, though I'm not sure why the designers of this kind of "outdoorsy" corduroys insist on front patch pockets instead of more traditional jean style pockets.

For two winters now I have been lookinh for a replacement corduroy cargo pants since the one I have been using for 6 winters is retired.
I headed off to my local LL Bean store to actually fit and purchase the Allagash lined cargo pants and I spotted this sharp-looking corduroys on the rack so I went on ahead and fitted it, and it was instant love at first fit!
The fit was perfect around the waist. The 32 inseam a little long for me and that's negligible. But the clincher for me is the stretch it gives when I squat, bend, hike my leg up and over. Apparently this has spandex or lycra?? added into it.
I am a Physical Therapist by trade hence the bending, squatting and such, lol, but it does not hinder my every movement, especially the squatting part! The legs and crotch part stretch nice and comfortable.
The corduroy material is exceptionally soft and warm enough for me when I went out and it was 23 deg.
I also love the generous pockets, and the side zipper pocket. I just wish there were two of them but again something negligible on my part.
I am definitely going back to the Skokie LL Bean and get another one in the lighter color!

Thank you for listening! This year's North Ridge Corduroy Pants have jettisoned the useless front patch pockets and upgraded to deep, inset pockets, an inset zippered pocket on the right front, plus phone or tool pockets on both thighs. They are the same wonderful corduroy, great fit and great for carrying as much as you need in your pockets! Please delete my negative review of 2/15!

Rated 1 out of 5 by customer6 fit and sizing issue
I ordered this pant in a 30x32. The pants that arrived were much larger in the waist and unlike the description did NOT sit below the natural waist. The crotch was 1/4 way to my knees. Fabric is great. Very soft. But the fit and size are almost laughable. An honest description and more modern fit would be a huge improvement. Very disappointed and I'm responsible for paying shipping to return these. Might be the last bit of menswear I purchase from LL Bean. On the bright side, my flannel sheets are great. Too bad that attention to detail doesn't extend to these cords.

by ukulelejim Comfortable pants, but...
These pants fit nicely and are very comfortable, but the Dark Cinder color is far from what is represented in the website photos. I would consider it more of a medium ash gray. (i.e. MUCH lighter shade of gray than shown. - See photo of these with a pair of darker gray pants.) The darts at the knees and the side pockets make pressing wrinkles out of them more of a challenge than any cords I have owned; so plan to take your time. (I press cords inside-out, and it is fairly difficult to lay them on the ironing board in such a way as to avoid imprinting the side pockets that are under the side being ironed.)

Yes the front pockets are a little shallow, but they look great and there is a zippered pocket for stuff you don't want to loose. Overall, it is not a problem.
The pants themselves are nicely (and somewhat stylishly) cut, and have a slimmer leg (but not skinny). There's a bit of lycra in there for some stretch. Great for hiking.
Fit is a little generous in the waist. I maybe should have gone down one size.

LLove these pants .I hav'nt owned a pair of corduroy pants for over 20 years as most styles tend to be street conservative.Yet these pants are styled like any pant you might wear on your next day hike. They tend to be slim in style and most importantly to me come in odd size waist. (I am 35-34) Trying to find odd size pants can drive me crazy because I'm no longer comfortable in 34 and 36 are way to large. I like to buy pants with side pockets on the leg to carry my smart phone and these pants provide ample pocket room to carry any large smart phone without having to struggle to get it out. Once you put these pants on in a cool/cold New England day and feel how soft and warm they are you may want to wear nothing but corduroys from then on. After I bought my first pair at the store while on vacation I could'nt wait to get home so I could order the second color on line. Good Job LL

These are the latest iteration of the gradually dwindling number of options for those seeking casual corduroys. They fit well- both before and after washing, and are very comfortable.
They have ample utility pockets, but oddly the two basic pockets are either peculiarly shallow or the slit is peculiarly low, as change, keys, etc feel vulnerable to falling out when you sit. Perhaps, it's just a matter of getting accustomed to the cut of the pockets, as I've been wearing the pants on and off for several weeks without losing anything.

I have been an avid fan of Bean clothes for years and I hate to say that this is the first item that I have to return to Bean. While the corduroy pants look good and are comfortable, the stud to fasten the pants broke on me while wearing them. While I like the zipped side pocket, I also find the front pockets to be too shallow for my liking. As soon as the weather improves between Toronto and Rochester, which is my nearest store, I will be returning them.
